  1. Can I get an all clear to have my 4 recalls done yet?

I have a rule of thumb for software recalls or software updates for ANYTHING; if possible wait at least 60 days, or better 90 days after initial public rollout. OEM's now days don't want to do multiple cycles of Beta/pre-release or early-release testing before rolling out something en masse...
  2. 2024 having 12v low voltage battery issues with my Hybrid...

There may be a service feature to "relearn" the charge characteristics of the either battery, typically used when a battery is replaced, but can be done if the battery condition wasn't learned correctly from the start. Many modern battery management systems monitor net energy (current over...
  3. Hybrid Battery

I haven't found anywhere where Ford or a 3rd party confirms the exact lithium chemistry used for the Mav. You? From unofficial references to cell counts versus pack operating voltages, it *appears* to be 3.7v Li-ion, but maybe modified chemistry or construction to tolerate higher operating...
  4. Anyone pump the oil out from dipstick hole to perform oil change?

An engineer, home owner, annoyed truck owner--Ford didn't provide an access hatch, like my Mazda-- pragmatic (the challenge of nearly "no parts required"), the solution doesn't leave another hole to cause possible turbulent noise, or another opening for debris, and never having to remove the...
  5. Anyone pump the oil out from dipstick hole to perform oil change?

I modified the fibrous cover so I can do oil and filter without removing the cover. For the oil drain plug, like others, just did a bit of trimming towards the passenger side of the cover to allow it to drain into a pan. For the filter, with the cover on the truck, I pushed an awl directly...
  6. Better hybrid performance in really hot weather-

The AC Cooling kicks in a t 110F AMBIENT, or 110F battery temp? As you've monitored (graphed) the temp PID(s), is there an obvious regulation set point or hysteresis temp range?
  7. Transmission grenaded

If you look at their posts, they interject re: quite a number of "issues". They're better staying in the puffery lane, than expressing concern and alluding that they can help in some way. Instead, when it REALLY hits the fan, they are no where to be found. Both dealerships are apparently...
  8. Transmission grenaded

We (OK, I) assess the Ford presence as being superfluous based on past responses and results of--or lack thereof based reports from those who Ford reached out to.
  9. Better hybrid performance in really hot weather-

Lithium chemistry batteries are most efficient at taking/delivering charge between about 65F and 105F, rapidly deteriorating outside that range. Further the batteries start to suffer significant service life (# of charge cycles) damage at temperatures above 100F or so. I believe the service...
  10. Transmission grenaded

It's not a dealer issue, but a Ford issue, and should have reached out when the matter became known to them, via the *official* Ford presence, here. If I were the site owner, if the Ford presence never/rarely provided any meaningful assistance, then I'd block them, as it just frustrates the MPF...
  11. Maverick at Atlanta airport

Isn't that tail thingy on the plane supposed to point sorta up?
  12. Transmission grenaded

Noticed the Ford rep is ghosting this thread/issue...
  13. Better hybrid performance in really hot weather-

The HV battery is nominally 230V or so according to OBD PID's while driving. An OBD error is set if the battery voltage exceeds 258V, as the DC-DC and DC/3-Phase converters apparently don't like it higher than that. The service manual variously states "about 400V" and in other section "about...
  14. Better hybrid performance in really hot weather-

A little info on the hybrid use of the A/C compressor for HV battery cooling https://www.mavericktruckclub.com/forum/threads/a-c-on-even-when-the-led-is-off.51505/post-904684
  15. Drop in bedliner question.

Bought my DIBL and tailgate liner from a RealTruck dealer locally, in June. Waited until they had a $30 rebate. Fits well. Most of the tie downs have to be removed for installation.
  16. Oil Analysis for 10k mi interval, '23 Hybrid XLT

The air filter was spotless, no tears. Will see if silicon drops over time.
  17. Oil Analysis for 10k mi interval, '23 Hybrid XLT

Also noted his Silicon ppm are higher, like mine. Would like to see that improved as well.
  18. Oil Analysis for 10k mi interval, '23 Hybrid XLT

Very different operating conditions from mine. While his wear metric is a spectacular 1.8 ppm/1000 mi, mine is a good, but possibly not optimized 5.1 ppm/1000 mi. I aim to improve upon that.
  19. Oil Analysis for 10k mi interval, '23 Hybrid XLT

You made my argument; for 0w20 or 5w20, vs 5w30, an immaterial to zero difference in viscosity for cold/cool ambient/operating, but a notable difference--I'm assuming beneficial until the next analysis-- in viscosity for hot ambient/operating, where my Mav spends the majority of its time. 5W...
  20. Which octane gas to use on 2.5L Hybrid XLT?

I will note that virtually ALL modern engines which employ knock sensors will have a slight to significant improvement in throttle response, torque and MPG, due to the ability to advance ignition (and in some cases adjust valve) timing until the knock sensor senses knock. For...
