FINALLY, it's not a real fix until they fix the charging via software, but at least it is on their TO DO list. I still have the original battery and have been trickle charging it once a month or so.

Sitting isn't as much of a problem as driving it short distances as I think it uses more 12v than it can put back during a short drive. If you do let it sit for days at a time you could just trickle charge it back to full once a month or so.

It could be that the BMS sensor didn't sense the full battery, but if you let it sit for about 8 hours the BMS resets, or you can do a BMS reset procedure found in the owners manual.
