I finally got mine installed and it's one of the best cheap mod I've done to the truck. It looks so much more finished with the cover on. Don't be afraid to bend the plastic and use a flat head to guide the tabs in.

I'm hesitant to update anything software related on my truck including the bcm recall on the taillights. Everything is currently working so I'll wait it out a bit.
For the remote start to work, there is a little plastic tab that you have to insert in the perimeter plus module. It's a very small plastic looking tab. Press lock, unlock, lock on you're key fob and it should activate the remote start. No need to take to the dealer and no programming necessary...
How stupid is that driver. There's tons of space to slow down and the driver didn't, looks inexperienced. Glad you and your passengers are okay. Also, what kind of dashcam do you have?
Here's the cover I use, you can do two or three sections based on your preference. Doesn't interfere with heated steering wheel and it has a grippy feel to it.
I'm going to try this again on the weekend when I'm less tired and have more patience. This looks simple enough but actually a pain in the ass to actually install. I already have some scratches on the surface even after using masking tape to prevent it. Good to see all the tips from here.
