Better performance (torque, acceleration, AWD response) from a simpler powertrain that requires less maintenance and overall last longer. Bonus points for being quieter and no tailpipe emissions. Towing is probably the biggest drawback though, but for me that's less important in a small truck...
My DD was a Model 3 and I had a 10 year Chevy Colorado stripper truck for weekend warrior work. Decided to sell the Model 3 to Carava at the beginning of summer and just use the Colorado until the Mav arrived. Truck was totaled last month so now I'm borrowing spare junk cars from family until my...
I was too until some jackass rear-ended me at a light and totaled my old truck. Can't bring myself to buy something used at the current prices and the Maverick is a freaking steal for the price.
I thought a July order, with production starting in the fall, would get me a truck by the end of the year. Especially considering I ordered the base engine and Ford saying customer orders would be built before dealer stock.
My guess is they wanted a couple weeks of solid production before making a big splash in the press. Ford knows this truck is going to be a smash hit and it's not like they've been short on orders. Just your standard marketing tactics.
Glad to hear the pics don't do it justice! My old Chevy Colorado just got totaled in an accident so I can't wait for my order to arrive. I just wish they offered the Mav as an all electric or at least a plug-in hybrid starting year 1.
I bet you get scheduled this week! Moving to a 2 at least means they were considering building yours haha. I didn't order til mid-July so I've got nothing to complain about.
You're probably right. My thinking was that if Ford can only build X hybrids a week and Chapman receives their entire monthly allocation after the first two/three weeks, they get 0% of the hybrid capacity for the rest of the month. Seems like a broken system to me, but I may not have all the...
Hey Tom, have you given any thought to bumping non-hybrids ordered after June or July to priority code 11? Not sure if that would even help, but it sucks that the entire month's allotment gets used up by the EcoBoost orders in the first couple weeks of the month.
Plan for Q1 2022 so you’re not disappointed. Hybrid + Lux aren’t being built in large quantities until late November (at the earliest).
I’m in the same boat as you and it’s been frustrating.
Yes Ford has confirmed that they have my order based on the info from the DORA. They said the dealer likely didn’t input my email address when my order was submitted.
Should I be concerned I wasn't asked to supply a copy of my drivers license yet?
I'm sure there are a bunch of orders ahead of me since Chapman is my local dealer, but its frustrating to see August hybrids scheduled before my early July order. Mine is a "simple" hybrid + lux package.
I'll have to inquire about this tomorrow. I was rear-ended while stopped at a light so I'm feeling pretty confident they will decide in my favor, but my policy doesn't cover a rental car so I wasn't sure how that works. Thanks for the info!
Got hit at an intersection today and my truck is now totaled :(
At least no one was hurt and the other driver had insurance, but not exactly a great time to buy a used vehicle while I wait for my hybrid build date. Perhaps this Thursday I'll get lucky and receive an email from Ford.
Anyone...
