Today I started on building my bed rack to eventually add a roof top tent and solar shower. I haven't found anything I liked that was affordable while also retaining the usability of the hard trifold so here we are.
i started off with a 1020 aluminum roof rack picked up on Facebook for somewhat...
I actually took a photo of it yesterday incase I forgot
I wish I had the chance to order it with 4k, I just picked this up as a cancelled order but no options
First time towing with the truck and everything went well besides loosing our transom saver along the way.. tow/haul mode seemed to engine brake which was nice coming into turns, very maneuverable which was great, i need to check the curt harness i don't believe the ground is good enough as...
today was my day off since receiving several new parts and decided today is the day i start adding some things. tailgate assist, curt trailer wiring harness, bed lighting, rear switch panel, tailgate lock, and lastly tinted the chrome on the taillights. we just got a new hoist at work and was...
Figured id have a dedicated place to keep track of everything so here it is!
this was the outcome of my 28$ rv hitch install spent a couple hours on it but was pretty straight forward
I have some flat bar left over from a previous project, I'll likely do a write up with some measurements for some diy ones when I get to it. They seem pretty straight forward with a couple bends and a few holes drilled.
It's the same material that's on the body, proper prep will last until the sun bakes it off. not as durable as powder coating but I'm cheap and work at a bodyshop so I just decided to paint them
All I can remember is it's a Lexus colour, the exact code I can get on Monday
They only come in satin black, I hate satin black or black in general for wheels so figured if I was going to paint them I'd paint the imo best wheel colour
I actually picked up an RV hitch at princess auto this morning for 28 Canadian pesos. I just finished welding it up 5 minutes ago, needed a little modifying to work but should get it painted and reinstalled in about an hour. Also ordered a Curt harness which should be plug and play.
I haven't noticed any increase, granted I'm not used to how quiet this interior is, my other car I was driving was a 81 firebird and you couldn't have a conversation without yelling.
The Day finally came yesterday where I got to pick up my first new car, oxford white Maverick XL. And of course not even 24 hours after taking it home I had to ditch (this might hurt some feelings) the god awful Steelies for some RTX wheels I painted a while back and some 245/65/17 Falken...
My xl AWD just arrived at the dealer this morning! Built 4/13, took 31 days from shipped to arrival to the Fraser Valley. hopefully Friday I'll be able to pick it up
Oh man that eibach set up looks ideal. Did you manage to get a look at how the front light bar was attached? This looks like a good reference for diy light bar or pod mount, probably wouldn't offer much in terms of protection but awesome to see regardless
