I think there are two things going on with the door locks. Some are issues with the electrics themselves and others are accidentally hitting the lock itself.
I don't mean the electric button the lock lever itself. When I first got my truck I noticed when I opened the drivers door I sometimes...
I would hope so! Your truck is going to be serviced by the lowly shop monkey if it's a general service or simple recall fix. I would hope they were trained to lift any car properly. Then you have to add the 10% chance stupidity may come into play.
I've always liked the red from Ford. Nice to have someone from Maine in the group. I love that state. My plan was to retire there but the move's on hold atm.
Looking to get up there in the fall, before the leaf peepers show up.
The beemer's not to shabby either.
Use an online calculator like this one https://canitowthis.com/

If you're talking 2 by lumber then I just drop the tailgate strap it at both ends. No need to lift tailgate to mid position. Last week I loaded 6 sheets of 1/2" ply and 20 ten foot 2x4. Tailgate at midpoint for ply 2by stacked across ply strapped at front and rear only no issues with load.

Fords concept for this truck is for you to finish out the truck the way you want. Plus the fewer bits and pieces they put in it reduces cost of the truck.

It gets harder every year to find a good dealer not looking to rob you blind. If you can't get what you want from Balise give Rick a try at Chatham.
I would never buy from Balise again. They are the biggest pain in the rear to deal with. I did business with them once that was enough for me. They like the bait and switch tactics. I had trouble getting them to give up my wifes car after we bought it! It took us three weeks to get her SUV.
