I thought I was being the best mpg too by using Eco mode everywhere I went including my 1.3 mile trip to Aldies. But just for grins & giggles I decided to test the two modes on the same route of longer distance.
And yes, I noticed the more aggressive braking in Eco mode but it seems the 'energy...
I went to my GF's house which is 17.3 miles away in ECO mode. Speeds ranged from 30 to 50 mph with 6 semaphores/stop signs. On the way there I got 69 mpg. On the way back, using the same route, at about the same time I used Normal mode and got 68 mpg. I don't do much freeway driving. I'm...
Because I tend to keep my vehicles a long time....I drove my 08 Escape 156K miles before selling it after receiving my Mav this does concern me. I'll cross that bridge when I get there.
I just found the ECO mode and the computer actually reported 58 mpg for a 20 trip. Normally I get upper 40's in mixed driving and low 40's when sustaining speeds of 75-80
The January 2022 issue of Car and Driver has a nice article but it states "...base versions are motivated by a hybrid powertrain featuring a 2.5 liter inline four and TWO electric motors..."
I've not been able to discover anything about TWO electric motors on my truck delivered 1/28/22. What am...

I've had to order every new vehicle I've bought because I prefer standard transmissions but it's nearly impossible to even order one anymore, therefore since I had to get an automatic transmission, I selected the Maverick Hybrid. Automatic transmissions have trany creep, that is, even in idle...
The information on this site (and the dealer) indicated when Ford was going to build my Hybrid truck, I'd get an email.
I placed a reservation in mid June that was converted to an order in mid July but due to a dealership snafu, the order was not sent to Ford until early October.
I got a call...
A note from the dealer I ordered my hybrid truck from....
Thank you, I appreciate you sending me this..
The Mavericks that are out in the world right now are promotional units, Ford refers to them as mannequin units.
They are used for promotional events, and often automotive writers have...
My daughter went to the MN state fair yesterday and found this truck. 1. Apparently they are producing some? I thought there was no production scheduled until after 11/23.. 2. I also read (here??) they were only producing trucks for actual customers, not for the dealer (to exhibit).
