I use it as a work truck so it happens enough for me to notice. To be fair, I am used to having an old F150 with only manual lights, so I'm comfortable turning it on when I need to.
If it comes to it, it might end up being something I set to "auto" most of the time, then edit the Forscan into...
It hasn't happened since but I took the truck to the shop anyways. They saw the code and diagnosed it as an issue with the IPC switch panel (NZ6Z-11500-AA)... I don't know enough to disagree but that certainly seems strange.
@Tech Tye I'm planning on waiting until warranty is over then going...
I opted for a pop up tent. The wire frame keeps everything together, even though it sticks out a few inches from the tailgate, it doesn't impact anything functionally.
I did make a platform which folded out, but I realized the amount of weight and effort it was wasn't worth it.
Digging into the other posts, it seems like the primary confusion/issue is that the DRL circuit is spliced to the low-beam for the non-Lariat models. At the very least, it threw me off when I was trying to characterize it since certain options like "low-beam only" should've disabled it... but...
It's nice to have when we're camping or at drive-in movie theaters. If we need to adjust something in the truck, it's nice being able to do so without having the flash of headlight.
The ambient light sensor still knows, but I've noticed that when I turn on the parking lights it also activates the ambient light powerpoint (that I've tapped for interior underlighting).
Note: the ambient light I'm talking about is the one under the central console, separate from the ambient...
I forget the exact math, but I believe the default setting for powerpoints (accessory) is 15-90 minutes for Ecoboost/Hybrid. If the battery is low (common onf 12v), it'll shut off almost immedietely with the truck to save power.
Parking lamps also triggers certain (ambient) light circuits that remain unpowered during the daytime. I'm not positive, but I believe it also lowers the max brightness for certain keys and dash components, I think because they assume you're using it at night?
I
I also will admit that there is a certain amount of excitement that happens when I figure out something that was previously locked away in the As-Built data or otherwise. It takes a lot of trial and error, but it really is satisfying to see things come together and better understand the...
I used to have an older F150 with manual lights. Even though it became muscle memory, there were still a handful of times that I'd forget. It's not much of an excuse, just taking one more thing out of the stuff I have to do when I start the truck.
It also is a hybrid and like others, I'm...
You might have to adjust the setting for hyperflash in Forscan (beam outage), that's what the recall was supposed to fix but that also might've interfered with the Switchbacks and caused them to malfunction
I've wanted to get away from using the LED lowbeams as DRLs since they can't be replaced. I found a hack through the normal Forscan interface to use the turn signal bulb as the DRL instead, but there was also a concern that it could cause pre-mature failure since the turn signal brightness...
I believe it's the SOBDCM (secondary on-board diagnostic BCM). Wiring harness is the one that connects the SOBDCM to the HF45 Transmission, also known as the Battery Cable Harness (NZ6Z-14305-B). Does that look right to you?
All good, I'll do a reverse a lookup with the electrical diagrams. I'm assuming the two you're talking about are the male/female parts of the wiring harness? Or two different wiring harnesses entirely?
Definitely have them do it at the main fuse box/busbar if they will (underneath the main fusebox). It seems like some of the 12v issues stem from them putting two plated busbars on top of each other during different stages of production... with varying levels of debris caught in-between. That's...
One of the initial posts had a loose pin found on C199A-8. Looking closer, it also seems like Ford went with silver or tin pin contacts, which don't have the same corrosion resistance as the gold. I also didn't find any dielectric grease along the HV busbars or connectors... which they otherwise...
Just had the same issue error code, waiting a few hours to see if the issue is able to resolve. I confirmed that it was also built 3/22, which aligns with a number of the people on this thread. For reference, I've put on about 25k miles and this issue happened while parked in the garage.
I'm...
