Mine broke and Mabett accidentally sent me two replacements. They didn’t want the second one back so I’m giving it away.
Will ship USPS ground, US only. First person to claim gets it.
My commute in my 24 2wd hybrid is about 11 miles, only one of those is electric. I am usually getting anywhere from 34-36 MPG, sometimes less depending on the weather. I never get anywhere near what other people brag about online. I have been getting about 440 miles per tank if I'm lucky.
Thought I would share some pictures of painting the rear emblem.
Blue parts were painted satin black.
Chrome parts were painted with bed liner platinum (rustoleum).
Scuffing, plastic adhesion promoter, then black primer before the final coats.
I don't really like plasti-dip. It's kind of hard to tell, but this is a transparent smoke tint, you can still see the paint through it, I didn't want something opaque.
I didn't even ask for that, I looked for it a bit but couldn't find it. I wanted to bring it up all the way to the tailgate bumper anyways so it worked out.
I just said fuck it, I'll do it myself. I tried reaching out to about 6-7 places online and never got anywhere.
It came out pretty good, not 100% perfect, I will probably re-do it at some point but this is what I was going for. Slightly more transparent would have been cool.
I’m going to try and actually just use some vinyl rolls and knife tape to make it. I wasn’t able to find a good vector file for this to cut myself anyway.
First come first serve, I wanted the 3d letters but didn't pay attention and got the flat vinyl ones. I'm not going to make the seller lose money because I can't read. Free to the first person that wants them. Will be mailed in a regular envelope with no tracking. .
New 18” Sparco Terras. I love them. Debating on swapping the text to gloss black decals. These replaced the stock 18" Lariat wheels, same stock Michelin Primacy tires.
Yeah I think it really depends, I think older vehicles with harsh lines look good with chrome, but with the vehicles that Ford makes now all the chrome and silver just makes me think of the silver theme from windows XP, which isn't a good thing.
I'm currently doing a chrome delete on my truck and decided to tackle the Lariat side emblem. I did try plasti-dip at first so I could just paint the actual metal text, but I got frustrated with it, and while attempting to remove the excess with tweezers any little touch would break right...
