I was wrong, the tail lights use canbus. You would have to run the cable from the 3rd brake light.

You could just splice into the tail light's brake positive and use whatever ground. Having something plugged into your trailer connector disables certain features.

I did the same thing and still am having better saver issues if it sits for over a day. Going to the dealer on Thursday for the accm and abs module updates and trailer recall software.

Zap also ruined the water seal on one of my tail lights so do with that info what you will. It was an absolute tragedy and I was forced to buy some fancy form lighting tail lights which are coming in the mail Thursday and I am not excited at all.

Yeah, or it’s double shot plastic, but the chrome piece is chrome all the way through the back and it seemed hard and heavy like metal.

I didn't order them, I painted the stock ones. Process listed in original post, it was pretty easy.
