My first call after the dealer said it was toast would've been to Ford Customer Service. Explain the issue and your disappointment that the trans couldn't live to at least 100K..and should be closer to 150K..even though it was serviced. I'd ask for a goodwill repair for customer relations. They...
After reading the disclaimer and that they can sell the data collected, I'd like to see the list of companies Ford sells the data to before I start using it again.
True, but you certainly want better than 50%...and this front end is probably more like 20% if that. Car reviewers have pointed it out...several threads/comments here and we are fans of the Maverick! Sorry it is bad, really bad.
Put the same front end flap on the F-150 and see how quickly loyal...
Must have got those opinions from GM owners....never should have gotten past mgmt for approval. No need to change the front end...AWD hydrid? Yes, New infotainment options..Yes! Mess the front end up? NO! The headlights are fine...its that ugly flap.
I bet Ford corrects this sooner than...
Only 2500 miles in 15 months???
If I drove that infrequently I'd own a Hellcat, not a Hybrid.
I'm averaging closer to 20K a yr.
just did first oil change at 10,100...with 30% life left. I'll run it longer going forward, probably until it gets closer to 10% life left range.
Thank You...
I've done some light towing with my Hybrid. Yamaha FX jet ski so total towed weight around 1100-1200. No issues, can't tell its back there, tow/haul mode works well...plenty of power.
That said, my favorite feature is the electric AC compressor as it will pump out cold air right away, don't...
Well hybrids are the latest "hot" item...and I love mine and never would have considered the gas turbo for what I'm using the Mav for.
That said, I have no issues with buying a turbo engine, problem is most don't do proper maintenance on them.
I did not find that to be the case with my previous turbo 4's. I put 315,000 on a 1990 Plymouth Laser Turbo, which had a Mitsubishi built engine....and over 200K on a 1991 Eagle Talon AWD, same engine but pretty heavily modified. Most if not all turbo engines are built with stronger parts to...
My takeaway is the on-board oil change system works well and no reason to deviate from it. Also I did see a Project Farm video comparing oils and the Motorcraft oil did very well compared to top mainstream oils.
So as this is the same platform as the Bronco Sport..does it also have CV axle issues before 50K miles?
That is bad IMO, should go easily 100K...only positive would be the aftermarket will provide a solution pronto.
But I would agree that is unacceptable lifespan for a part that has been around...
The Maverick being a complex item..ie made up of many parts, is going to follow the bathtub curve. So higher probability of a failure early in its lifespan...which is why you have a bumper to bumper warranty...then failures decrease with maybe a few random failures and then later in its lifespan...
