Kept my 2008 Ranger for a couple of years after buying my first Maverick. Finally had to sell it due to space issues. So sad. Was rust-proofed many times and was rust free. Someone got a real nice truck.
The Maverick is wider in the mirror department than the Ranger. I miss being...
The helicopter in you picture suggests you fly it. Would you use a different lubricant anywhere on it than what was specified by the manufacturer? My nephew flies helicopters for the military.
A minor change in viscosity won't make a big difference in the Maverick, but despite any shortcomings...
There are threads on K&N filter efficacy on every car enthusiast website. Since the hybrid system in the Maverick is a pretty sophisticated setup, I doubt you will see any real improvement. But some people like racing stripes, oil catch cans, down pipes, the absolute largest wheel tire...
My 2008 Escape Hybrid is still running on its original battery. My 2012 Volt still was operating with no discernable loss of range when I sold it 11 years later.
The fascination with how long the HV battery will last and how much it will cost is not lost on me, but in my experience (harsh...
The only way my brother could get his wife a Lexus NX hybrid in Cincinnati was to accept the car with one of these installed. They said that it was a mandatory option on every Lexus they sold. Followed him home and my observation was that it looked like there was an electrical problem with the...
Rear proximaty sensors were only on Lariats and part of that package, not optional. I don't know if the 25's will finally get them on the front (like most vehicles that have them).
My 24 Lariat hybrid has been trouble free. Sloppy dealer service spilled oil all over valve cover but I changed dealers and solved that problem.
So, don't blame the tool, blame the fool.
My custom ordered 2019 F150 Lariat had over 300 kms on it when delivered. The dealer said they had to drive it to a nearby town to get the bedliner they insisted was better than factory and to attach the Leer cap. I was not impressed and gave them 0's on the customer survey Ford sent me.
And...
All manufacturers decide what attributes are necessary when they are designing these systems. Honda seems to have decided the ICE stops at lights. Ford decided that this was not necessary.
My 2012 Volt also did not shut the ICE engine off at a stop after the battery reached its 30 per cent...
If you are afraid of wipers freezing, wrap plastic shopping bags around the blades and tuck them down. Many vehicles do not permit raised wipers - if you've had ones that do, well great. But it is not a flawed design or a defect in the Maverick.
Although the manual doesn't mention it like it...
I don't think Mavericks are any more prone to being written off in the type of accident. My neighbour swears by his Dodge pickups and was hit from almost the same angle - right rear.
The box seemed twisted, although it didn't look too bad. Turns out, the frame was collapsed on that side, the...
When tariffs were placed on home appliances when he was last in power, prices in the stores soared and sales fell flat. Tariffs are hard to remove, but they finally did. When they did, appliances got cheaper. Who pays? You do. The country of origin doesn't. If the manufacturer wishes to...
I waited 13 months for my first Maverick, a 23 XLT. It arrived and I only found out because I happened to stop by the dealership to replace the running board for my F150. It was sitting all by itself and I guess they were keeping it to show people as at the time, Mavericks were almost...
It might be worth biting the bullet and buying the assembly from Ford. A little expensive, but you get the real thing. Getting parts for a mirror is likely a non-starter. At least the 24 Lariat mirror doesn't come painted anymore (not that I'm happy about that either as my 23 XLT mirrors...
Rubberized or asphalt undercoating only protects until it gets hit by a sharp object and then becomes a spreader of rust as the abraded surface now has a wonderful trapping membrane to keep moisture against the paint.
If you use an oil based system which does have to be re-applied...
I couldn't understand why Ford dropped the Ranger in 2012 (while continuing to build the 2011's) in Canada and the US. But I was biased because I was on my third Ranger in 2012.
When they did give us back a Ranger in 2019, it was too big.
At least they kept trying.
I still have a 2008...
I had a blend door fail in my 2008 Ford Escape Hybrid just outside of warranty (about 1500 kms). I had had all services done by the same Ford dealer. Ford had a TSB on the repair but didn't cover any of the cost.
One side blew boiling hot air, the other was ice cold. If you had no...
