  1. Maverick Hybrid Died on Freeway this Morning - Completely Unanticipated

Our Mac was a late 23, like June 23 manufacturing. I received a recall earlier in the year about turn signals and ignored it. I also received the early April recall and accepted. Ford dealer sent a technician out to our house, so very convenient. Took 30 minutes. Given the discussion about...
  2. Speed Check Ahead

So at the end of the day, is this message in essence a radar detector?
  3. Speed Check Ahead

I've looked for law enforcement vehicles and saw none. And why would there be a progress graphic if they were involved? Using apple maps.
  4. Speed Check Ahead

Traveling on the interstate now and then we get a message on the screen something like this: "Speed Check Ahead." Then soon there is a progress bar on the bottom of the screen. What is this? thanks, Donald
  5. Maverick just went haywire!

Yesterday I got recall notice 24c01. The problems described in the first post look like the problems the recall is trying to address. It is presented as something that sometimes can happen. We are getting our software update on Friday. Our dealer is sending someone to our house and they will...
  6. Rendering of 2025 Maverick facelift / refresh update

Sorry, that grill is a downgrade. Too busy. Too lacking in clarity of idea, which if you think about it, is the essence of the Maverick.
  7. Does clay bar wear down paint finish?

I see clay is somehow used in making vehicle look nice. When I think of clay I think of a mineral that is made of small particles which can abrade. Does it wear the finish to use a clay for polishing?
  8. Oh The Pressure

I'm having a relationship with our '23 XLT. This morning, while I'm in the living room having coffee, it sent a message to my cell phone. It said one of our tires was seriously low on air. Right. I went out and looked and it all looked ok. Then I had to move the truck from one side to the...
  9. The little light

I don't think so. It was emitted from inside the rear light group housing. That is not open to the inside of the cab.
  10. The little light

Good suggestion. If it turns up again I will. I almost did the last time. What I would really like to know, though, is whether there is something behind the cover amongst the other lights that could make a round, bright red light, in the middle of the group.
  11. The little light

The red light emitted a small red, bright light in the middle of the light group above the rear window.
  12. The little light

The only camera I have is in the tailgate area that comes on when in reverse. Also, while the neighborhood lighting has a consistent nature, I saw this light on one night but I did not, for example see it last night.
  13. The little light

That is on my list of possibilities also. i have seen that happen with the taillights when the sun h its the lens just right. But this was at night. There is a street light overhead. If someone has unscrewed the lens and knows there is no small rear facing led, then case closed. But it sure...
  14. The little light

A lot of the attitude in this thread is that of pure mavericks.
  15. The little light

I think it might be better to imply what is happening than to show it.
  16. The little light

Our 23 Xlt like most has a rear facing light on the roof. We have a window that when I am sitting doing something I don't need to describe, allows me to see our truck from the rear. Last night there was a tiny red light in that group of lights shining. An LED I'm sure. Tonight it is not on...
  17. Hybrid Maverick: Speed vs Fuel Economy -- My Recorded Data & Chart

If by speed control you mean the cruise control, on that I will say this. Once I figured out how to use the cruise control I really grew to love it on longer highway trips. I set my speed to match the car up front and keep a good distance. With the control tab you can add or subtract speed...
  18. Hybrid Maverick: Speed vs Fuel Economy -- My Recorded Data & Chart

Assuming the dash reading is reasonably accurate, I, a light foot, Get 45-49 around town. 44-45 at 65. Probably close to 44 over the 4k miles we have on it. Driving a long drive to reach a family member close to passing , at a bit over 70, it dropped to the upper thirties. Average computed...
  19. Oil Changes - Dealership vs Local Mechanic

For our other car, a Forester, we've been using a really good mechanic outfit for at least 15 years. But they are Japanese car specialists. When we bought the Mav., my first American car, I thought the dealer, Ford Store San Mateo, were straight shooters and aware of what they were doing...
  20. Calling all late 2023 and 2024 Hybrid Owners...soliciting your thoughts

Waited 11 months for '23 Xlt hybrid. approaching 4k miles. It is one of the little joys in my life.
