Thanks Gary, I am very nervous about this recall.
I saw a video on replacement of the intercooler. They had to remove the front bumper to get to it. Hopefully they don't need to do that to get to the rad.
My LOBO was built in Feb. After reading this post I had to go out and look under the hood. It looks more like 1/2 to a full day to swap the rad & fan, maybe more. There is a lot of stuff that has to be removed and un-hooked to get the rad out. I counted at least 6 hoses. And without...
IMO An EV Maverick would require considerable redesign to accommodate the battery pack due to it's unit body construction. The Lightning already has a separate frame and body so, I think, it is easier to change the frame to accept the battery pack.
The design has to start with the battery...
Sorry to hear about your back issues. I have had similar problems so I know what you are going through. The hardest thing is when you have to give up on things you used to do.
All the best my friend.
Ford owner's manual says you have to pull the latch lever TWICE in order to open the hood. I thought it is a nice safety feature and more convenient than having to pop the hood and then go out and find the second release latch to open the hood.
Our '22 Transit connect was front wheel drive, however it could still turn pretty tight. The Transit Connect is a European design and I guess it needed a tight turn radius because of the narrow streets????
Someone posted that if you step on the brake twice before coming to a ful stop the engine won't shut off when you come to a full stop.
I tried it today and even though I had to stop at 7 signals the engine never shut off. It also seems to work when you modulate the pressure on the pedal.
Thanks for the info. My battery lists at 760 CCA, "non-spoilable lead acid" battery, no caps on tom like the old batteries. So I don't think it' I have an AGM battery.
I just posted to chops about using SS hardware. I hate rusty hardware.
Only problem is when stainless steel screw rolls under the car or bench you can't retrieve it with a magnet...LOL!
Thanks for the update and good to know about the Philips head screws. Are the screws sheet metal or threaded, like metric?
It would such a pain to have to remove those wheels just to tighten 2 Philips head screws.
I'd be looking to swap the Philips hd screws with SS hex hd screws. (I hate...
Thanks for posting the pictures. Now I have a better idea of what I need to do.
Some people on MTC have mentioned that the flaps/guards were rubbing away the paint on the fender edge. Have you noticed any of this ?
I think the flap was moving around as they suggested using RTV to stabilize them.
You are correct. Another senior moment on my part. I guess I should stop posting stuff from memory.
Forgot about the '59 El Camino with it's huge fins.
As for the '68 Ranchero I had, I didn't realize it was a unit body. I didn't have it long enough to get familiar with it. I bought it...
Thanks Dave, I have no other Mavericks to compare to, so I appreciate the information.
I will be moving ahead with my flat mud flaps/splash guards.
Yea, I think "splash guards" is a more accurate description of what I need for my Mav.
