Honest question. What's the total cost to get it tested (mailing the sample plus actual cost of sampling)? Do you then take what they say you can do for oil change interval and apply that to every oil change, or keep sampling for subsequent oil changes? I'm genuinely curious as I can change the...
The link is to the scheduled maintenance section. I copied and pasted directly from that section. It appears the 2025 scheduled maintenance section is different than the 22-24 models.
So it looks like Ford changed the oil change info for 2025 models, like the OP has, to just say "trust the oil life monitor". The 2025 manual does have severe use reduce change intervals for the transmission, spark plugs, and maybe the PTU.
I quoted the 2025 manual with a direct link to it, it is what it says unless you live in a climate similar to Middle East, North Africa, Sub-Saharan Africa and use an SM or SN quality oil, then it's 5000 miles.
Here's the direct quote:
Your vehicle has an Intelligent Oil-Life Monitor that...
From the 2025 owners manual, severe service intervals are defined for :
automatic transmission fluid change (every 30k miles instead of 150k miles)
spark plugs (every 60k miles instead of 100k miles)
power transfer unit (maybe ... "The PTU lubricant may be more likely to require a fluid change...
Per the 2025 owners manual, there is no set interval, the oil life monitor will tell you when to change it, just don't exceed 1 year (I'll admit, I do every 5000 miles anyway, especially since I live in a cold region where we see single digits & negative temps every winter ... and oil is cheap...
This!
All my Toyota's were "optimistic" too. The Prius v I traded in for my hybrid Maverick was optimistic by 2 mpg. My Maverick was also optimistic by a couple mpg. What I appreciate about the Ford is that I can adjust the indicated mpg via the engineering test mode. Now it's close enough to...
Could be wind direction too. The Mav isn't exactly aerodynamic, so will be affected by wind quite a bit. And elevation changes if one way is more uphill or downhill.
I was impressed personally. This past week I towed about 3000 lbs of wood with my wife and 3 younger boys with me. I got 25 mpg in my '25 hybrid. That's still better around town fuel economy that our '16 Sienna gets with just the family. And the Maverick still accelerated as well as the '15...
I feel the Maverick hybrid can be tough to measure depending on how you use it. If you use it as a truck, then those times will drag down the lifetime average very quickly.
My lifetime (about 9500 miles) average is 37.1 mpg; and on the 13" screen it's 38.9 mpg (I think that's for the last 2000...
Only thing is, the EB in your example has an additional $1000 off incentive, so without that additional discount it's $2100 different, which sounds in the ballpark of my recollection
The 25 hybrid equipped the same is more than the EB. I forget the exact amount, but can find it. What made it confusing is the EB came standard with awd, and the hybrid did not. But apples to apples equipment, EB was cheaper.
I have a hybrid, but recognize that some people want more speed (5.8 sec 0-60 & 14.5 sec 1/4 mile at 95 mph is quite a bit faster), or if someone hauls/carries a lot then the additional power can definitely be beneficial. As they say, options are good.
I have a buddy who told me he added sandbags to his Maverick. I reminded him it's a FWD vehicle, so he's getting no benefit. It appears the FWD weight distribution is about 62/38, which seems to be in line with FWD sedans.
The perception of speed fascinates me. The new hybrid does 0-60 in 6.7 seconds & 1/4 mile a bit over 15 seconds (per Motorweek & Car & Driver), and that's seems barely adequate these days. That would be quick for your average sedan not that long ago, and while getting nearly 40 mpg to boot! My...
I'm with you on some of that. I really enjoy the days of manual HVAC controls. However, I do love the wireless Android Auto with the maps and various sources for audiobooks or music, which overall has worked pretty flawlessly over the past almost year now. I certainly do not miss the days of...
I'm pretty sure he's talking about the hassle of "selling it outright" (i.e., private sale). When I got my Maverick, I made a similar same determination. My trade-in price was $1000 within the KBB estimate of private sale. Once factoring in the sales tax advantage, the hassle of a private sale...
I used JL Audio C1-075ct as they are 6 ohms. In addition, they'll drop in and snap into the original spots, but the fit is a bit loose so a little padding to prevent them from rattling.
I used those in combination with Kicker 51KSC6704. Ordered from Crutchfields so it came with the right...
