That size is a huge and hit or miss if it fits without rubbing on stock wheels.
Hopefully someone else can chime in, but it would be helpful if you list which wheels and tires you are thinking.
I've accidentally locked myself out of the car as well and 'know for sure' that I didn't press the lock button on the way out. Since I became aware of it, it magically hasn't happened again.
So I agree with this post, I think this is what happened.
It's a hybrid so much larger/heavier wheels will affect fuel economy more than they would on an ecoboost.
Your stock size is what? 225/55/19, right?
I'd say 245/55/19 is the biggest you should go otherwise you will just be killing the fuel economy way too much.
As a reference point, I have a...
Yours are about 29.5" outer diameter whereas the stock are about 28.5" outer diameter.
I'd probably go 235/60/18, 236/65/18, or 245/65/18 if I was replacing the OEM 18" tires.
I would not go any bigger than those because the tire size and weight start affecting the car too much, unless you care...
I said it seems like you don't have an issue with your driving style.
I think that part was lost after the first part of the sentence, I should have worded it differently lol.
I do agree you should be able to get around the EPA rated economy without having to do any special driving, so maybe...
You are definitely doing something wrong with your driving style (which it seems like you don't) so it could be an issue with your Mav.
I am on a winter road trip right now averaging around 30mpg.
(Toronto to Indianapolis and back ~5 above the limit)
This is the absolutely worst mileage I can...
I'm not a fan of them being 19" either, I think 18" is the sweet spot.
I see why ford went with 7.5" width because they need to keep the stock 225 on there.
With all that being said, I do think they look cool as hell and am looking forward to see what people do with them.
The turbofan wheels will be hard to get, so it wouldn't make sense paying Ford extra money for these.
I'm sure you could find people willing to trade these + cash for the turbofans.
Yes it will fit.
I have 235/70/17 on stock 17's which is the same overall size as 235/65/18 and it fits with no rubbing.
I don't have super aggressive AT tires though so that might have an impact, but I think even AT tires should be fine.
Here are pics...
The stock tires suck in snow and are OK in the rain, so they feel like they are 'worn' under any non-ideal driving conditions.
They are good at fuel efficiency on dry pavement.
I'm with the guys who use warm water and nothing else.
If I get a tough stain or something I might use a cleaner, but typically warm water and a microfiber cloth are best.
Been doing this for 20 years and always have a clean interior with no weird wear and tear, discoloration, or anything like...
This is so true, I don't think people understand how terrible the stock tires are.
I'm in Toronto and have had several all season and winter tires through the years.
The stock mav tires SUCK in the snow, that just shows how good the AWD system is.
I personally would have preferred a small...
