It is true and I had wanted to go down that rabbit hole with my previous truck, but let that CHP or local cruiser see you hauling your load back from Home Depot/Lowe's without that commercial tag and you get to contribute a lot more to Policeman's Ball.
Here's the DMV reference...
I run into this all the time it seems (coworkers, car rental desk, calling for parts checks)...because the Maverick is not plastered on every TV across the nation, nobody knows what it is. It is pretty lame that Ford can launch a new vehicle, but because they didn't do a major advertising media...
Only issue I've had so far is just an AWD warning that kept popping up, but doesn't seem to affect drivability whatsoever. Ford released it back to me safe to drive until they get the part in to replace what is tripping the intermittent warning (hasn't popped up since I got it back from the...
Thank you @jalbano2 . Well, I guess won't be doing any softroading for now. 😆 Figured it was something like that but didn't realize it was FWD only. I'll have to switch over to the power meter display and see if it shows that too or still "thinks" it is sending power to the rear.
Seems a lot of other posts are saying disabling that clip at your battery also disables your smart battery management system (whatever that does), so I'm a little wary of that. But I also found this video that has you disconnect another clip on the trailer brake light/turn signal module under...
Got mine back today after 2 days in the shop with a diagnosis of a Power Transfer Unit (PTU) actuator failing and said it is safe to drive until the part comes in (backordered). Display screen showed "AWD System Fault / Service Required" and FordPass showed same error as above about...
Got my Maverick back today after spending 2 days with Ford Service Techs (Ford provided a rental). They were able to duplicate the caution alerts and diagnose it down to a faulty actuator in the Power Transfer Unit (PTU). The PTU is of course on backorder - but said it was safe to drive until...
After all, look how hard it is to even find floor mats and other accessories fight now...the market will catch up. Seems the popularity of the Maverick was hugely underrated but imagine is getting a lot of attention now and manufacturers are paying attention to these sites/ forums.
^^ This for sure. But I do appreciate those who are blazing the trail on this. I'm pretty confident there will be upgrades available later, whether factory or aftermarket. Thin Ford did a lot of things to get this out the door with constraints being as they are. I can live with it until...
Same here and thought it was just me...maybe we need a support group where we all meet with our Mavericks! Oh wait, that might be counter productive. 😆
Mine had 16.1 miles on it...and I picked it up the day it arrived. There was a great thread/video(s) on this with @FORD BOSS ME who explains a lot they do when your vehicle is going through a PDI...which involves a dealer test drive to make sure all is good. If I find the link I'll update...
Same here. Each time I start the truck again it has cleared, but eventually will come back on again after driving around and pop the warning screens in the truck and another notification in my Ford App. I've got a running stream of them pretty much every time I drive the Maverick.
I opted for the FX4/Lux without the Towing as it came with the tow hitch and the extra cooling (minus the transmission cooler) as I didn't want the changed gear ratios due to being surrounded by lots of highways. As for the transmission oil cooler, it looks like it could be a possible add on...
From seeing some Bronco/ Bronco Sport unlocks it appears you can add it back in without removing anything. I imagine that will be a "benefit" of the factory tune. If not, I'd bet you will still be able to unlock it. I'm waiting to see what the factory tune offers first.
Edit (link)...
The "Drivetrain Malfunction/Reduced Power" is what shows up now in Alerts in my FordPass App (x2 now). Only thing it says on the driver display alerts in the truck is what was above. Interesting.....
Yeah, I'm definitely keeping that appointment to let them check it out. I'm...
Well, this kind of put a damper on things. Anyone else seen this? First started cycling between the two warnings just before I got to work this morning. Came out after work and the warnings were gone. Drove for about 50 miles no issues doing some errands, and then it started cycling between...
Wow...now another top contender for the Pirelli re-tread (think I'm at my spending limit for a bit now...hahaha), Excellent review and they look great!!
