Yes, I think you may be correct. I feel like if you can get it paired to your phone it will work....but currently no way to get it to pair as it hangs up right before that step. It starts to load CarPlay then cannot find the phone.

Interesting thought about the Ford App....to clarify, is "lx" meaning the XLT Lux package? Thought it might have been "XL" but your profile has XLT. So you never activated your FordPass/Modem with you truck? I think if I could get the connecting screen up it will work....but it seems to hang...

@Cubican Do you mean XLT Lux or some other "lx"? Which one did you get to work with it (obviously not Ottocast)? If so, you might be the first one to get one to work in an XL/XLT with the Ford Connected Touch system.

So far only success that has been logged on here is with the Lariat/Sync setup - nobody yet has got it to work with the Ford Connected Touch system in the XL/XLT. I'm hoping that will change once they get the testing and a possible firmware update. Edit: It looks like @Cubican may have gotten...

The Cplay2Air one is for Apple CarPlay - there are other ones that do the same for Android Auto.

San Diego Area: And that's exactly happened on delivery. Extras offered but declined and truck for MSRP only as ordered.

CarPlay does not work via Bluetooth - just the basic radio. Needs a Wired (or wireless "tricked") connection to use the navigation, Spotify, etc. from CarPlay.

Here's the one I ordered - direct fit, only 2" and noticed no difference in reception. The longer one is now in the glove box if ever needed in some remote location but much cleaner for everyday driving.
