  1. AWD Fault, rear differential needing to be replaced

On the rubber smell, does your truck have the spray in bed liner? I have the same thing with mine, only on wet days, or when the truck gets wet from road spray. I'm thinking during the application some of the bed liner has dropped onto something that gets hot but not hot enough to burn it off...
  2. Is your Maverick Rusting?

Pretty sure the rear pads were defective on mine, dealer just kept saying it was normal wear, the center 80% of the pad never seated properly to the rotor like the pad material in the center was to soft, by the time I decided to looks at closely my self the the pad were almost completely gone...

My 22 XLT has gone thru three Canadian Maritime winters no body rust, but I did have to replace the rear brake rotors that turned to dust.
  4. BCM software update couldn't get any easier

Just curious if anyone has had any issues since having the BCM recall done, I had mine done yesterday, then today after I arrived at work the tail lights turned on after the truck was shut off and parked for about 20 minutes. Had to go out and turn the truck on and off to get them to turn off...
  5. How To: Sync 3/4 swap for non Sync 3 XL/XLT

Was just having a look to see if I could find the old T-harness I had on Amazon for reference but couldn't seem to find one like, but it was similar to this one https://lljcustoms.com/products/2011-2029-select-ford-llj-diy-harness
  6. How To: Sync 3/4 swap for non Sync 3 XL/XLT

I made a T-Harness connector from an old amplifier T-harness for adding and external amp to the stereo in my 14 Fusion that had the same 24pin connectors(plug and socket connectors) as the OBD gateway network module, so I rewired that harness to plug in between the existing harness and the...
  7. How To: Sync 3/4 swap for non Sync 3 XL/XLT

I now have the Sync 3 system(non-nav) working in correctly Maverick, few thing I came across that the people at Cyanlabs helped me out with, There are setting that need to be changed in the in the RCM (Restraint control module) and the TCU (Telemetry Control Unit) to work with the Sync3 APIM...
  8. How To: Sync 3/4 swap for non Sync 3 XL/XLT

To follow up with a bit more information, I made an incorrect assumption that the pinouts if all the Sync 3 APIM were the same, when it comes to pin 39 to 47 they are model dependant, in the APIM I was trying to use all these pin are connected to ground, so no HS4 can bus or LIN bus. Looks like...
  9. How To: Sync 3/4 swap for non Sync 3 XL/XLT

Been working on adding a Sync 3 with NAV to XLT, just wondering if anyone who has done this had this issue, the Radio Controls do not power up, I only get the Ford logo on the Sync display as the APIM boots after I open and close a front door, then it goes off, I am thinking the issue is with...

Going by what it says on the Ford site, https://www.ford.ca/support/how-tos/fordpass/troubleshooting/why-does-my-ford-vehicle-enter-deep-sleep-mode/
  11. Deep Sleep mode - 2022 hybrid XLT

Following up after my service appointment, I wish I had better information for everyone, when the dealer went to find the TSB information they had last week, they couldn't find it for 22 Escape Hybrid. Either he missed read the one for PHEV, or it's disappeared from their system, but he did read...
  12. Deep Sleep mode - 2022 hybrid XLT

Hmm...I might have the TSB number wrong , the one the dealer service rep read applied to both PHEVs and HEVs, as he thought the same thing that it only applied to the PHEVs but found it apply to HEVs as well. We see if it helps any, they are suppose to apply the fix next week.
  13. Deep Sleep mode - 2022 hybrid XLT

My 22 Hybrid Escape is having a similar issue, randomly going into deep sleep, checked with the dealer, there is a TSB (22-2078 I think) for the issue for the Escape and Corsair hybrids, the TCU needs a firmware update, it is going In next week, will see if that fixes the issue. With mine there...
  14. OTTOCAST CarPlay Wireless Adapter

Hmm... Thread seems to have gone off the rails a bit, but back to the original question, I bought the Ottocast U2-X and it seems to be working Ok in my non sync XLT, I tried the Carlinkit 4 first and it did not work. Someone asked about the audio quality, it runs on a 5Ghz wifi link between the...
  15. CPLAY2AIR Wireless CarPlay Adapter confirmed to work in Maverick

I tried the Carlinkit 4, would not work in my non Sync XLT, would try to start Carplay then stall, it worked in my two other vehicles with Sync 3 systems but was flakey in my 22 Escape. Went back and forth with their tech support for a week, decided to just return it to Amazon. I bought the...

  18. Reality check: Running 18-gauge 3-wire from fuse box to moonroof, dashcam and auto-dimming mirror from one 5amp run?

It seems to work well when I was bench testing, responds quick to the light sensor. I only tested in the driveway so far, it was late last night when I finished so I did not do a road test yet. The mirror is also slightly bigger than than the factory one, which my wife will like she found the...
  19. Reality check: Running 18-gauge 3-wire from fuse box to moonroof, dashcam and auto-dimming mirror from one 5amp run?

I just add a Gentex OBI2HL4 (salvage from a 2019 Nissan Altima $60cdn[$92 delivered with taxes]) with auto dimming and Homelink without the compass. I decided for now to just wire to the dome light control board, tapping the black wire which is ground and the yellow green trace which is 12V...
  20. Reality check: Running 18-gauge 3-wire from fuse box to moonroof, dashcam and auto-dimming mirror from one 5amp run?

Just some notes: Typically you only use solid wire in static applications, like buildings, in vehicles you use typically use a stranded wire because it is more flexible and less susceptible to to fatigue cracking at bending and connection points due to movement and vibrations. National Code...
