The thing is they've used them for trade shows and dealer models anyways as well as trail and off-road promotions. Plenty of test drive videos around where reviewers got ahold of them. It wouldn't have taken anything to pass them around a while longer
When I test drove an fx4 it rode and drove like a car. Much better than my 2014 f150 and about the same if not a little better than my wife's 16 forester
It would have been a good move on ford's part to pass around 20 or so mavs to major aftermarket manufacturers so everyone could get the measurements, suspension info, etc. We should have alot more available than we do currently. Companies are just now starting to roll out products
I didn't read every reply here so sorry in advance if any of this has been said.
As much as I would love an ST, I don't think this is it. The appearance just isn't changed enough to warrant thinking it's a higher or different trim package than what's available. What seen through the grill is...
I read that the engine was Dyno tested by Ford and rated at 250hp on premium fuel. 87 octane shows about 217 or so on dynos.
To the original poster of this thread: you mentioned strange shifting after you got your truck back. Call the dealership and make sure that they reset the PCM so it...
Great review! One thing that really bothered me though, is toward the end when she was climbing the sandy slope she refused to use the sand mode. Why would you use slippery mode for that? I think the Mav should have shot right up that hill if she had used the modes properly
I have been a Subaru fan for many years but they can't improve on their awd anymore. I have seen multiple videos showing the Mav doing things Subarus couldn't and it gives me much confidence in my future truck
Damn I'm kind of regretting this thread now as everyone's projects make mine look lame lol.
Love the v6 route! I had a 1995 3.8 v6 mustang when I lived in florida that has a custom mac exhaust on it with something close to an x-pipe and it sounded way meaner than it was. I beat that car to...
Just a fun off topic thread. Who has a project vehicle that will be sitting next to the Maverick I. The garage? Mine is a 95 mustang v6 shell that sat in a field since 2012. So far I've done a 5.0 swap (fully built with pro comp heads, b303 can, bored .60 over, port matched typhoon intake, bbk...
For me, when Ford announced the Maverick it wasn't even on my radar. I was fine with my F150 and my wife's Forester. Then I bought a house and my daily commute suddenly increased to 46 miles round trip. The Subaru started consuming oil amount other issues and mileage was starting to get a little...
1st mods planned are tint and forescan drive modes. Next is cruise mod
Long term plans are lift, bed cover of some kind, rims, full audio system overhaul, awd turbo stickers, seat covers, daytime runlight mod
I drove a loaner Subaru for 3 months and put nearly 5k miles on it. The dash had a tracker for how much gas was actually saved during that time. It was less that 1 gallon. Idling for an extra couple minutes on your daily commute is not wasting as much gas as it would seem. Totally useless feature.
