Unless Ford corporate says that your deposit has also been transferred to another dealer, I would contact your state's attorney generals office and ask them to investigate.
Here's a thread on adding a Ranger tailgate lock to your Mav. It's kinda fun to have a "parts bin truck"

Go to any scrap yard , your bound to find a 1993 or newer Ranger there.
And I believe the Maverick, Ranger, and Bronco's share alot of parts. One is the electronic locking tailgate on the ranger, it fits the Mav. There was a topic on how to install the small wiring harness and new latch.
But The Maverick doesn't have a donut, The spare is only and inch smaller in diameter than the regular tires.
By all means put a full size tire under there if it makes you happy, it's your money.
If your changing tire size, and money is not an issue, then ya you might as well go for the full size spare.
But your still gonna have an issue of fitting it under the bed without some modifications.
I personally would just cut back on the saw tooth thing.*

The spare on a Maverick is just slightly smaller than the full size tire, and will perform pretty much the same. Now if it was equipped with a donut I could see the point.
What does having 2 blow outs in a year have to do with this? The spare tire is there to get you to a service center where a new full sized replacement tire can be installed. The slightly smaller spare can and will do this job with ease. Cramming a full size tire under there won't change anything.
In all honesty how often do you use your spare tire? I'm 53 and have been drying since 15, in all that time I think I have used my spare maybe 4 times.
When I got my Maverick the first thing I did was install Coverado black leather seat covers, Next on my list was the smart liner floor mats, then a tri-fold bed cover, and studded snow tires for the winter.
My too do list includes new rims and tires for the spring (My steelies will stay with the...

Looks like a good compromise, turn it on in busy urban areas, off in the country.
I went with the coverado's in black, good price, good fit IMHO.

I have an XL Hybrid and it has all the pep of an regular ice engine and I get 46 MPG, best of both worlds IMHO.
I would keep the eco until your Hybrid arrives then sell it for a profit. Win/Win!
