  1. POOR MANS TONNEAU COVER w/ Plywood

In my time driving over the road I've seen a lot of stuff fly out of pick ups, boats, and trailers. It's crazy out on the highways.
  2. POOR MANS TONNEAU COVER w/ Plywood

I guess you had better tell the entire Flatbed trucking industry that they are doing it wrong by holding down there tarps with bungee cords. https://duckduckgo.com/?q=flat+bed+tractor+trailers+tarps+and+bungees&t=brave&iar=images&iax=images&ia=images I'm guessing you don't get out of the city much.
  3. POOR MANS TONNEAU COVER w/ Plywood

Seeing that 4 of your 6 factory installed metal hold downs failed, I would say the feeling is mutual, I definitely don't want to drive beside YOU. I will be more than happy to follow far behind you though, and get another free tri-fold cover, like the one I currently have, courtesy of someone...
  4. POOR MANS TONNEAU COVER w/ Plywood

Actually rubber bungees will give and stretch a long way before they fail, I drove flatbed tractor trailers for 6 or so years, and Our tarps were held down with rubber bungees in all weather conditions, the key is to use the right amount of them.
  5. POOR MANS TONNEAU COVER w/ Plywood

They fly off the vehicle at highway speed because they are not properly secured. same can be said for Kayaks, life jackets(by the hundreds), beach towels, anything left in a trailered boat, or the back of a pick up.
  6. POOR MANS TONNEAU COVER w/ Plywood

Trust me the aftermarket covers are no more or less safe than most homemade ones, I work for my states highway department, and we find caps and bed covers pretty regular. In fact the trifold cover on my Nissan Frontier was found on the side of the Highway, not a scratch on it. My advice is to...
  7. Bronco Sport wheels on a Maverick LX - pics!

I live up in the snow belt, my steelies will be used in winter, thus keeping whatever aftermarket rims I get salt free.
  8. Maine Orders/Owners

I placed my order from Rowe Ford in Auburn, Hybrid XL FWD Carbonized Grey, no build date as of yet.
  9. Bronco Sport wheels on a Maverick LX - pics!

I would love to see a set of these on a Maverick!
  10. 235/65 Toyo Open Country AT3 tires installed on XLT FX4 Maverick + new non-red FX4 decal

LOL, I've ordered a 2 wheel drive hybrid, maybe I can get one that says "FX2 On road"
  11. Backup Camera/Tailgate Down

Actually ,many vehicles have the camera on the license plate frame, why not mount it there. They must have had there reasons.
  12. Backup Camera/Tailgate Down

That occurred to me also, the engineers must have thought of it, I'm guessing dirt/mud was an issue? The best bet (if money was not and issue) would be 2 wide angle cameras in the tail lights, the computer could stitch the imagine together easy enough, this would give you an awesome view when...
  13. Backup Camera/Tailgate Down

It's the same on every pickup. Chevy, GMC, Ford. They should mount the camera on/or in the tail light, IMHO.
  14. Soft paint? Rock chips after 400 miles

I wasn't even aware that there was a problem with mud flap orders, maybe that's why I haven't gotten a build date yet. In any case I'm not changing anything, in fact I would rather get my Mav after the Maine winter. I might even keep my old Frontier on the road till the end of mud season...
  15. Does full size spare have TPMS?

I have to wonder if this will confuse the system, If its set up for 4 TPMS and you have 5. unless the info screen has a slot to list the spares pressure.
  16. Tradesmen tricking out their mavericks

Never mind tools, when are we going to see the first slide in camper for the Mav....
  17. Mav Alternative Thread: Looks like some people's Mavs (esp hybrids) are still a ways out. If you can't wait, what else have you considered/bought?

My current ride is a 07 Nissan Frontier, the inspection sticker expired in July and I just don't want to make the necessary ABS repairs to pass. Was really hoping for a Dec. delivery of the hybrid Maverick. Not sure how long I can slip thru the cracks and not get caught. Come January my stickers...
