Nice- So basically wanted more oomph and or offroad chops or ? Family is struggling a bit on the interior space in the Maverick- 5+ hour drive coming up friday to Colorado - Alpine slide fun :)
All good info for towing with boost @ elevation but turbo technology and testing isn't anything new, do we have other setups that can't hold enough boost and throwing codes while towing that still hasn't been solved yet ?
Yep it will come back for sure- My first reduced power fault was with an empty truck, no trailer at elevation over mountain passes in Utah doing the speed limit of 80' ish - This should not be an overwhelming task.
Did you get the fault code message sent to you in Ford pass and did the check engine light go away ? At least in my case the CEL stayed intact and provided a pretty clear explanation/path of repair- In this case if there is a good chance a simple valve swap can solve the problem I am at a loss...
We got the same low boost fault code while towing as well as getting getting the reduced power drivetrain error which also happened a year ago both at about 6k feet in elevation. Dealer verified the low boost code and said the turbo bypass valve was defective and had it replaced. First reduced...
This must have happened to my dealer, a couple months ago I tried to schedule all the software recalls and the dealer I bought the truck from and had at least 8 services done previously now had no record of me and just told me they have been having issues with their new computer system.
1st time last year when it happened I was not towing. Three weeks ago I was towing @ elevation .Did your code that was thrown somehow magically clear itself and no longer shows as a fault message that's sent to you within the Ford Pass App ?
Exact same issue. In my case it was the Turbo - Bypass valve - BOV - Replaced - reset all codes. For all the system resets this service required the truck sure drives a lot nicer afterwards for some reason.
