  1. Tailgate not level with bed.

Nope, no drilling! These are clever. I hope they get back to me as I want a set for both positions regardless if Ford fixes cables.
  2. Tailgate not level with bed.

I just emailed these guys. I would buy two sets for both positions if it was necessary. It looks like they may require some drilling... Which may not be everyone's idea of a solution. https://www.dgmtailgatesupport.com/product-category/tailgate-support/
  3. Tailgate not level with bed.

It might not be on every truck, I just saw it in pictures and had to check.
  4. Tailgate not level with bed.

If you have a balanced load at 500 lbs rating it will carry its share of the load in the lower position with a 1500lb +/- payload but as soon as you put it in the middle it has to carry more of the load with calculations needing to be made for the angle and the amount of load hanging over the...
  5. Tailgate not level with bed.

Here is your 400lbs spec, nothing to do with how much weight it can carry.
  6. Tailgate not level with bed.

To act as a support, it needs to carry the weight of an active load. They rated it to do so. It was NOT slanted on purpose. In fact the half-cocked position puts it under more stress than any other piece of the truck so your argument falls flat because they did design that on purpose.
  7. Tailgate not level with bed.

I am not sure what is more concerning 1) A scooter enthusiast, chiming in on a truck issue 2) A Mod that isn't outraged by something not being "perfect" I just kid, I used to ride a 100 sport.
  8. Tailgate not level with bed.

It is not a matter of esthetics it is a matter of function and I was not outraged just pointing it out for other people that might want to haul a coule 2x4's with their new "truck".
  9. Tailgate not level with bed.

Either way at 1/3 of the length of the box plus tail gate it is rated at 1/3 the payload. It is "rated" to carry weight not dangle in the breeze.
  10. Tailgate not level with bed.

It doesn't keep some of the weight off the tailgate it keeps all of it off the tailgate. It is not intentional it was an error.
  11. Tailgate not level with bed.

The tailgate is rated to carry 500lbs which is approximately 1/3 of the payload. The tailgate is roughly 1/3 of the bed length. If your an engineer I will let you do the math.
  12. Tailgate not level with bed.

25 years as a finishing carpenter... I don't hesitate to toss a faulty level. Trust is earned not assumed.
  13. Bed cubby does fit on drivers side. However...

It's not really a bummer. From what I saw the cubby snaps together and you could easily pull it apart and use some NP1 or similar to seal it. If you are worried about heat you could add insulated heat tape to the cubby bottom. I think it's doable. A person could just try it as is and have no...
  14. Tailgate not level with bed.

Like I said, not the end of the world and mistakes happen but if this happened on a Raptor they would never live it down.
  15. Tailgate not level with bed.

Like I said if they make shorter ones. Chances are they will pick up on it and 2023 models will have a shorter cable with a new part number that we can order.
  16. Tailgate not level with bed.

Haha, your joking, right? Using it as a straight edge not a level. I guess it would be more accurate to say that they do not plane.
  17. Tailgate not level with bed.

No definitely not. If you strap a load down that sticks past the 4-1/2' box it should be supported by the tailgate. If that 2" drop is helping any for loading dirtbikes... I don't know man we ride some gnarly stuff up here on the west coast, i should just keep my comments to myself. Everyone...
  18. Tailgate not level with bed.

Pretty simple geometry especially with today's cad technologies. Maybe its not a defect but there is really no excuse either.
  19. Tailgate not level with bed.

I have owned a lot of trucks in my days and have never seen it before. It is annoying at a minimum and does not evenly support anything cantilevered out the back. I generally will use it in the half cocked position for lumber anyway. No not a big deal but I will not be able to unnotice it. I...
