  1. Questions about the Maverick?

Please spend some time searching the forum. Most of these questions can be answered using the search function. If you still have questions please post them in the appropriate sections and forum members will be glad to answer if they can.
  2. Any Maverick owners with NO problems / issues so far?

Have never tried the Wildpeaks, while they look like a good AT, I am not convinced they will be any better on ice. Need true winters for that.
  3. Any Maverick owners with NO problems / issues so far?

You are probably right. These are big companies with a lot of moving parts. At the end of the day it's all about money.
  4. Any Maverick owners with NO problems / issues so far?

I agree that the forums will amplify any of the problems and act as a sort of echo chamber. I also read that Ford used a "Lean" process, not unlike software developers and gave the design team a limited budget and time frame to get something out the door. We now become test market from which...
  5. Snow days for the Maverick

Anyone that knows the climate in Vancouver BC Can knows that this is an unusual sight. Both the Maverick and the snow are rare sightings in these parts. Went for a short road trip out to Fort Langley for lunch and a bit of business. This little truck likes the snow.
  6. 2024 Chevrolet Montana?

Anyone notice the FITS slots up front on the SSR in this vid?
  7. 2024 Chevrolet Montana?

What was wrong with the Chevy SSR was not that it was a truck/car it's because it was an ugly as hell PT Cruiser/El Camino love child that should have been aborted after the first sketch. I would be stoked to see this market grow. But Chevy could kill the whole vibe with their design department.
  8. Trailer Hitch Receiver, 4-pin or Not?

Looking at that link I would say not.
  9. Really starting to hate the Infotainment System

When mine locked up I had to power off the vehicle to get it to reboot. Maybe running a switch to the fuse box for rebooting on the fly is a hack worth doing? Put in the cubby location as a big reboot button.
  10. Driving with vs. without the tonneau bed cover

Yeah I thought about it after I posted the Mav has quite a different shape than most trucks used for drag racing so I could be wrong. It would be interesting to do a controlled test.
  11. Driving with vs. without the tonneau bed cover

I should note that this is from wind tunnel studies on regular pickups and the Mav could be different since the box is so short. There could be something happening with the extended cab and super short box that causes more drag.
  12. Driving with vs. without the tonneau bed cover

Cover on has less drag and better fuel economy. On the track some like to drop the tailgate or take it off to reduce drag, which seams intuitive but tailgate up is better than down or off and cover on is best.
  13. Safe to put weight over bed wheelhouse?

  14. Safe to put weight over bed wheelhouse?

I would do this ^ thinking about doing it for my dirt bikes. Remember to put some hatches in the floor for storage under the platform (why i am doing it). The weight would be a little higher but people load 2 machines above the bed rails albeit on bigger trucks.
  15. Is cubby door theft a thing?

Its not water proof but it does have a drain so it doesn't fill up. Its not all that sturdy. Putting a lock on it might make it more intriguing. At least if they open it they can decide if they really want the tie downs... Probably wouldn't steel the door but if they do, don't worry there will...
  16. Tailgate not level with bed.

One cable tighter than the other is fairly normal. This could change depending if you have a full tank of gas or sun hitting one side of the truck. The whole box will have some flex. It doesn't take much and as you said when you load it, it corrects itself.
  17. Bed accessory power wiring and lighting - DIY W/Pictures

I think they are proprietary. I only got one pigtail with my truck so I need to order another one if I want to do something on the other side. Anyone else get 2?
  18. Bed accessory power wiring and lighting - DIY W/Pictures

Honestly, look up any basic tutorials on automotive wiring and switching. +to+ and -to-. Only use mechanical fasteners and not solder for automotive wiring (I don't care what they showed in the flex box tutorial videos). The most important part of DIY is the learning! I enjoy the learning and...
  19. Maverick is a SNOW MACHINE!!!! [Watch]

First snow day with the mav. Handled it very well. Vancouver BC Canada doesn't get a lot of snow so it was nice to go for a spin in some fresh stuff. TC and ALB seam good for a budget ride.
  20. Non-lockable gas tank why?

Never had an issue with gas theft and I live in East Vancouver. I would say that the gas door is just a flimsy piece of plastic which was disappointing to the touch but I got over it pretty quick. Looks good. I saw one at the dealer that was not flush with the body which would have drove me nuts...
