There is enough room to snap them and that is all I have ever needed to break the ice off. I never think far enough ahead to pop them out anyway.
If you put them in the middle position and pop them out for the night will they finish the cycle with a remote start? That would cause a problem.
As a word of caution: I researched this carefully before deciding not to put roof racks on my off road truck. Load ratings and off road ratings are way less than we think because we see people with over loaded roof racks all the time. The truth is people also lose their loads all the time...
Even in my ram 2" is max without dropping the front diff. The cost goes from $200 to $2000 really fast. It's the IFS that is expensive to lift past 2" and the mav is IRS as well.
It would indeed be expensive if feasible . It would require a bunch of driveline "dropping" and lots of custom suspension. To get an idea my Ram has 4" lift, is way more straightforward (IFS & solid rear axle) and it cost 2k parts only. By the time I had it installed, new wheels and tires I was...
Your probably right. As a finishing carpenter I have developed an obsession with choosing the correct product for the job. You might want to back out any fasteners and add PL or some kind of glue in the holes for a little extra peace of mind. Any penetration, chip or wear-through spot will be...
Nice work.
There is a product we call Medex up here in Canada. It is MDF that is used for "exterior" use but not for direct moisture. It would do better but still needs to be sealed good. I think standard MDF will have a limited lifespan.
A better material would be Baltic Birch. It has more...
21" is the center to center measurement not end to end. This cable is the same length as the one on the mav. In short it did not improve anything. Nothing else looks like the correct length.
2" is the most that is out ATM. To get more will likely add too much CV angle.
If you want to sit high this is not the right truck. Ranger is better and will have more support for lifting...
The best way to avoid flats is with quality tires. I do a lot of gravel in the summers and everytime I buy a new vehicle I tell myself I am going to get some use out out of the stock tires before I upgrade. Last time I made it a couple weeks and got a flat on a well maintained gravel road... So...
If you crawl under the truck and observe the drivers side vs the passenger side you can see they addressed this issue on the passenger side with an aerodynamic cover and did not put one on the drivers side. I mentioned this earlier, the cover keeps grime out of the passenger side cubby area. It...
Haha, I am too old to be concerned about stuff like that. I used to ride a Vespa when I was a young man. Just an enthusiast of anything with 2 wheels and a motor.
I'm a closet 90's (80's? C'mon man) mini truck fan. Soft spot for them since I used to build models of lowered S10's back in the day with a stack of Minitruckin on my desk.
