  1. Steps I can take to minimize stone chips and scratches to the interior plastics? What things have helped you?

I had a 3rd party PPF installed on the front and front half of my hood. I took a lot of stone hits but the PPF was a self-healing version that, with heat (the sun or an actual heat gun) will fill in the gap created by the stone hit. For my 2025 Maverick, I ordered from the factory a full hood...
  2. Article, Ford loses its last cheap vehicle to tariffs

That ship left the harbor a long time ago, supported by many investors that knew it was less expensive to manufacture in certain countries and then ship them to America. Walmart proved it could be done.
  3. Article, Ford loses its last cheap vehicle to tariffs

Go to a new car dealer (GM, Ford, Stellantis) and see how many and how prominent used vehicles are displayed. If the dealers don't send them to auction, the ones that do go will have more used car dealers chasing after fewer available cars ... the end result will be higher prices being asked...
  4. Pushed the towing limits

I used to own a 2024 Santa Cruz; it was capable of towing 5,000 lbs. I was leery of the DCT transmission for off-roading. My new 2025 Maverick Lariat AWD/hybrid is being built this week. It will have the 4K tow package which is fine for my travel trailer. I have no concerns about the eCVT.
  5. 1 week 1st impressions - 2025 Hybrid Maverick

My understanding is the HF55 comes with the 4K tow package only. It's not in every 2025 Maverick.
  6. Random Maverick Photos of the Day Thread! 📸

Looks like you were in Bowie. Hot Well Dunes is known for two things: ATVs riding the dunes and two public, natural hot tubs. Yes, you can camp there too but those ATVs are noisy on the weekends.
  7. My Camper set up

What about calling it a caravan? In Europe a trailer is used for hauling garbage, not for people to camp in. It all depends on the different regions, what you call it. I always refer to a "truck camper" as a truck camper. A "camper" is someone who goes camping. N'est-ce pas?
  8. TFL - 2025 Maverick vs. 2025 Hyundai Santa Cruz

Unlikely that a new vehicle would be able to be a winner for Nissan. Even their Ariya EV was behind the times when it was supposed to debut (far to slow charging compared to the leaders).
  9. TFL - 2025 Maverick vs. 2025 Hyundai Santa Cruz

Until Nissan get themselves back to financial stability, I'd avoid the brand. I've owned two Nissans in the past and have no problem with them other than not wanting to gamble.
  10. Radio freezing

Take it to your dealer and complain. It's covered under warranty and could be a simple software upgrade or faulty hardware; Ford needs to determine the cause.
  11. Canada order to delivery

Congrats Garry! I have a build date of the week of May 12th. Since Mavericks are built in Mexico, they are covered by the USMCA agreement that Trump signed in his first term and exempted from the tariffs. Cheers, Steve
  12. ICON on my dash - what is it?

Yes, push it when you want auto-hold to function. Sometimes, people prefer vehicle creep.
  13. The Needle Moved... In Production

Well said. I can do both techniques. Those that hate the Backup Trailer Assist haven't bothered to learn it. No different from having to practice it manually before you know what needs to be done.
  14. 2025 Maverick Lariat Build

Hi, before all the tariff nonsense started, In early January, I ordered a 2025 Maverick Lariat hybrid, AWD, 4K tow package, power sunroof in azure grey metallic and smoked mocha interior. The build date is May 12th. and has the VIN assigned. No eta for arrival to the dealer. I'm currently...
  15. Break-in Period

I have owned two brand new EVs, a 2020 Kona EV and a 2022 Ioniq 5 EV. Technically, there is far less maintenance on brakes, engine oil changes, transmission oil changes, muffler replacements but, as I found out, there are battery coolant changes (far more expensive than ANY oil change), the...
  16. Break-in Period

It comes with a guide booklet. All manufacturers are now using downloadable versions which can be easily updated.
  17. Update: Auto tariffs suspended 1-month

You do not need to read any of them. So stop complaining and move on.
  18. Has anyone tried to order a new maverick and has been told that will be 25% more due to the tariffs?

Yes. I asked my Canadian dealer what would happen. As of Wednesday, March 5 there is an intent to delay automotive tariffs until April 2 since all 3 American manufacturers are in compliance with the USMCA agreement. So they won't be compliant after April 2? Makes absolutely no sense. More...
