  1. Quick FordPass question

No money spent by the owner. However Ford tracks and takes your driving data if you permit its use. Some are OK with this, strong no for me.
  2. An Ideal Camping Road Tripper.

That was the the road I meant. I got my 2 wheel drive truck stuck up there in November many years ago. I had to walk out to the village.
  3. An Ideal Camping Road Tripper.

Looks like you were in the Bay St Lawrence area. How was the road getting up?
  4. Procedure for disabling the seatbelt minder

Just wanted to add that turning off the chime doesn't stop it from chiming when you first get in and start up which is what I was hoping for. Having it not chime while driving is not an issue as I always use my seatbelt. I have to retrain my brain to buckle-up first before turning on as that...
  5. Beware - FordPass vehicle access request

...sort of on topic. I received an email last week from my Ford dealer. It said that their records show that I needed required maintenance. I replied asking what records they had and what was required. They were fishing as they didn't know my kms so thought I must have needed an oil change...
  6. Raised letters for tailgate from Canadian supplier?

I am also looking for a Canadian supplier
  7. Interior rearview mirror restricting forward visibility

I looked at my mirror today and it was taking up a lot of the front window view. I didn't know that I could adjust it up until I read this post. I moved it up as high as it would go to get it out of the way as much as possible. Much better than before...I probably gained a whole mirror worth...
  8. Any other snow Mavericks ?

I started this post with the first snow of the season photo. I thought I would add another to show hopefully the end of winter. Still some ice in the ocean but not much snow on the ground. The photo is taken along the Cabot Trail in Nova Scotia. 400km trip and I was able to get 7.5 L /100 km...
  9. Anyone notice a MPG increase after adding a bed/tonneau cover? (Aerodynamics)

I will say that it seems to have improved my fuel economy but I have not actually measured it. My driving has been mostly short trips and in winter conditions. You would need to do some long distances in similar conditions to have a accurate comparison. I didn't buy it for better fuel economy.
  10. Anyone like the dial shifter?

Of all the new things that I had to get used to in this truck, and there were a lot as my trucks for the last 25 years were bare-boned standard shift Rangers, the dial shifter has been easy to like. It was odd at first but it does its job fine.
  11. Heated Wipers?

Wiper well hell! I don't have the lux so no heated strip below the windshield. It is almost impossible to keep solid blocks of ice from forming around the wipers when they are in the rest position. Trying to continually remove the ice will eventually break something....maybe me. Even just a...
  12. Anyone install plug and play remote start to non lux package?

My non-lux Lariat does not have the VSS (AKA Perimeter Security System).
  13. Anyone install plug and play remote start to non lux package?

I have been trying to find a clear answer to this also and haven't. I would like to have a key fob remote start for my Lariat non-lux. I am not interested in including the security option.
  14. Maverick Key Fob (Flip Key)

Gpp, Is your XLT the lux version? I am trying to see determine if I can get a remote start key fob for my Lariat non-lux.
  15. [Nevermind, ACC distance indicator setting fixed] Can Forscan enable a MPH-only dash screen?

I didn't realize your vehicle was a hybrid. My comments were based on what I see on my non-hybrid screens which are different.
  16. [Nevermind, ACC distance indicator setting fixed] Can Forscan enable a MPH-only dash screen?

Turning off or on the Lane Keeping System (LKS) also changes what is shown in some views of the dash screen. When turned off the digital speed numbers are bigger in views such as Trip. I didn't want the large digital speed indicator so I have turned on the LKS but I have some its features...
  17. Soft folding tonneau cover in Canada bought

Maybe....but: I have no idea how they stock their supplies and don't care. However their website said at the time of purchase: "In stock and and delivery would be 3 to 5 days". If they can't provide that commitment as advertised than they are misleading customers. 3 to 5 days is not 4 to 6...
  18. Soft folding tonneau cover in Canada bought

Hi I was looking since November to get a soft tri-fold cover. Hard to find in Canada. I ordered from AutoEQ.ca in November from there web site which indicate they were in stock. Next day I got an email that said back ordered 4 to 6 weeks. I asked for my money back because I didn't want them...
