Or poorly ran suppliers. That’s an issue I get frequently. Suppliers give delivery dates, product shows up two weeks later with no communication or updates. Unfortunately that’s an issue that can start at the bottom and make everyone look bad on up the line.

How could they know? They don’t control every point of the supply chain. If they are expecting a part delivery on a specific date and schedule trucks to be built. However the supplier of that part doesn’t deliver on that date. Instead the supplier delivers 4 weeks later. Ford just got a 4 week...
