After owning a Lariat and a Lobo.... Lobo for me but I dont really use mine for real truck stuff....more home depot runs ......and I like corners......my Lobo makes a perfect daily for me with my R as my fun weekend car.....
My old Maverick was totaled for less damage then that.....the frame rail was barely tweaked though also....so totaled
Just get another Maverick....I bought a different truck and a year later here I am back with another Maverick .....dont fight the inevitable lol
My first Maverick lasted me 6 weeks and 1400 miles before getting rear ended/totaled
My second one I just hit 4 weeks and just passed 130 miles - at this rates its going to take me 9 months to break the motor in lol
Havent been on these forums for a while... surprised at the way some are talking about the alternative motor selections ....
Hybrid - gets better gas mileage (but still decent power)
Ecoboost - has more power (but still decent gas mileage)
Choose what makes you happy/ what fits your needs...
drive slower to save gas
some other helpful hints....
eat less to lose weight
spend less to save money
take a shower to get cleaner
mow your grass to make it shorter
heat your food to make it warmer
freeze your food to make it colder
water your grass to make it greener
Just curious....how many miles on your Maverick?
How did you know was failing?
I have the Ecoboom but was kind of curious as I was kind of interested in the hybrid also when I bought mine
When I was installing my tonneau cover I was in the truck bed with the tailgate shut.....(had the garage door closes)
At some point I opened the garage door- still lying down in the bed and I could see light coming through on the left and right of my tailgate ....so I dont think the tailgate...
You will end up spending 10K or 15K switching vehicles to avoid a potential repair that may never come - not to mention I think you could replace a motor in one of these for less then what it will cost you to switch vehicles......
If you like it keep it
But if its just an extra vehicle that...
I was curious and checked the carfax for my total loss Maverick a year later.....its now registered in Utah (Im in California) and being driven around.......so there is one saved from the salvage yard.....happy to see its living on
So I must be REALLY stupid as I just bought my second .....
My last Maverick Lariat got totaled after only about 6 weeks

went back to F250 for a while and just decided I missed my little...
Yep agree......as someone who also owned a SD and a Maverick - and now a SD after my poor Maverick got totaled .....
I mean it would be like someone looking at anyone driving a Maverick and assuming thats all the truck they could afford - which would be totally and completely wrong thing to do...
How can you tell if a truck has never towed something?
I keep my truck extremely shiny - and it also tows things .....can only dirty trucks tow things?
