My factory filter was on rather tight as well. The socket types I have didn't fit, but I had this on hand which worked well.

Winter tires make a huge difference, and that's what I'll put on mine, at least by the second winter. My last two vehicles have been AWD.
For what it's worth..., I just installed one of these that I ordered from AutoZone, which was drop-shipped from AVS in early June, 2024. They seem to have resolved all the previous problems with hole alignment and interference on the fenders. Mine fit well. I don't think the suplied fasteners...

The thread specs are usually referred to by diameter and pitch. In this case it's 8mm in diameter and 1.25mm between each thread crest. Bolt pattern is a term used to define orientations between multiple bolts or threaded holes.

Could you post pictures of the underside of the hood/protector? I’m curious about the attachment method and how much things contact the exterior paint, if at all.
