  1. Well this is different.... 7 white Mavericks

I've seen two white Mavs as work trucks in the past week. One was for a landscaping company and the other a delivery truck.
  2. Pickup Comparison: 2022 Ford Maverick vs Hyundai Santa Cruz

This picture of my truck hauling hay is why I didn't consider a Santa Cruz or Ridgeline, even before the Mav came out. There's no way I can haul more than a few bales of hay with the swept back rear window/frame. I wouldn't be able to securely stack bales, and most of the weight would be behind...
  3. I *love* my little hay-hauling truck

It's fine. Just the over-long cables letting it hang too low. The combined weight of the back bales is no more than 300 lbs and they are half supported by the bed. Tailgate is rated to 400 lbs.
  4. I *love* my little hay-hauling truck

They are like horses, but more so. You can't push them around, but rather work as partners. I've ridden draft mules and gaited mules. Both were fun!
  5. I *love* my little hay-hauling truck

The cables are a bit too long, as others have noted on these forums. It was fine for this load.
  6. I *love* my little hay-hauling truck

I've used it to haul hay and feed. Lumber for at home. Obviously I am not hauling a horse trailer, but it does everything my Silverado 2500 did besides that. And more economically and comfortably. The lower bed height makes loading and unloading a breeze. If I need to haul a big load of loose...
  7. Some observations: speedometer and miles to empty

Sometimes, in my area, they will put up radar-triggered speed signs to encourage drivers to slow down (not ticket cameras, just a digital speed shown). There is now one on a road I use regularly, and it is always 2 mph lower than the digital speed display in the truck. This is on a 35 mph...
  8. I *love* my little hay-hauling truck

Yes. Ours have killed a barn cat that strayed into the pasture. The surviving barn cat rarely goes in the pasture and always keeps a wary eye on them.
  9. I *love* my little hay-hauling truck

The first horse I owned (after lots of lessons and a couple leases) was a little reining-bred AQHA mare. I swear she was so quick she could literally disappear out from under me, sideways. I totally get that suspended mid-air feeling! haha! She made me a much better rider, for sure. I have...
  10. I *love* my little hay-hauling truck

I am so fortunate to have a good friend with a really nice setup for the horses. It's affordable, and I can also help out to save on board. We pick the poop around the round bales every day, to make sure it doesn't get muddy, so the footing stays good any time of year. Raven may be my last...
  11. I *love* my little hay-hauling truck

Here's our two characters, they are always photo-bombing when I'm trying to take pictures of the horses, lol
  12. I *love* my little hay-hauling truck

Raven shares a pasture with two donkeys and a few horses. The donks are such characters! I just love them.
  13. I *love* my little hay-hauling truck

Raven and I in warmer weather. The woman who gave/dumped her with me said she's a mustang, though she's not branded. Took a couple years of rehab and conditioning, but she became a great riding horse! This is what she looked like to start. I'm pretty proud of the changes she made with good...
  14. Does Ford care if you abandon your order?

When I handed my ordered, but not yet built, XL over to the dealer, after finding a delivered and refused Mav, the GM complained that it would affect their allocation if the customer who ordered didn't take delivery on that vehicle. I have no idea if that's true, or he was trying to make me feel...
  15. What's your Maverick hauling in the bed? [Photos Edition]

My mare is injured and on stall rest, so I need some square bales to feed (she's usually on pasture with round bales). I picked up 15 bales from my hay guy, and drove ~30 miles to the horse farm. Bales weight 50-60lbs each, so in the 750-900lb range for total load. She handled it well! No extra...

  17. Windshield pressure crack (just approved for warranty replacement)

We've had a cold spell here the past few days, and now I am hearing the "crk-crk-crk" sound around the windshield as I drive. It only happens once the interior of the vehicle is warmed up. When I first get in and drive with everything cold, there is no sound. The windshield crack has also...
  18. I love a Mav in Uniform.

I spotted this one recently. I didn't recognize it right away as a Maverick. It looks different with the bed cap. It wasn't until I passed it and saw the lights/grill in my rearview mirror that I realized what it was, haha!
  19. Windshield pressure crack (just approved for warranty replacement)

I haven't noticed any dash rattles, other than the one time my sister borrowed it and left a hair clip in the cubby over the screen. It kept sliding around and momentarily freaked me out as it moved each time I went around a corner, haha. I never do any kind of water, hot or otherwise, to...
