Nice! We are a Subaru family, and I have seriously considered going that route if this ordering process continues to be crazy and or it takes a year+ to get a Mav.
It's the exact same thing with guitars.
It used to be America>Japan>Mexico>Korea>China, Indonesia..etc.
Now it's more about which company puts the extra effort into quality control and uses quality parts.
When you go to a forum dedicated to a specific vehicle, you'll really get a warped perspective about the quality. That could be the case here - however, I read constantly about how cheap the interior is, rattles and creaks, how bad the paint is, now even with pealing issues, a fair number of...
For sure. That's really my big gripe with the Mav. For my taste, I'd rather pay a few grand more on the base and have better/more standard features - or make the jump to XLT or Lariat a bit more worth it with better standard features. If the Lariat came standard with CP360, ACC and Sync - it...
The base model comes standard with 4x4, Sync, CP360, Nicer wheels, Cruise Control, G.O.A.T modes.
31,055
The Maverick with AWD and CP360 is 25,795
5K difference, but you don't have cruise control, nicer wheels, sync..etc. You can't even get sync in the Mav unless you go to the Lariat level...
I see.
I still think it isn't underpriced. Standard features of the Mav, even on the higher trims, suck. They have already raised the price, and if they bump the price up too much more on the 23, it'll be overpriced.
Exactly! The Mav is cheap. It's built in Mexico with cheap labor, cheap materials and crappy fit and finish. And yet people want to think "OMG how did Ford do this!?!? They HAVE to be losing money"
No, they aren't losing money on them.
A rose by any other name...
The deductions beyond CP360 would not be substantial enough to cover the cost. You'd be waiting past the lifespan of the vehicle to get that back.
Yeah - the entire appeal of the Maverick is that it's super cheap and fuel efficient with the bonus of doing some truck stuff in it. When it starts getting closer to 30K than 20K it really starts to lose the appeal.
I hope the 23 doesn't get bumped up too much more in price from the prior...
I don't think the Lariat is worth it. IMO what you get isn't worth the 3K+ increase. If it came standard with CP360 and ACC - it would be a much much harder choice and I think worth it.
You aren't getting actual leather seats, you aren't getting ventilated seats, upgraded sound system...
If you have rear facers - It might be tight (especially if the people in front are taller). If everyone is forward facing, it shouldn't be an issue.
I am 6'3'' and sat in a Maverick for the first time the other day. With the driver's seat in a comfortable position, maybe even slightly farther...
Go to Louisburg for the Maverick, but stay because Louisburg Cider is awesome. I recommend picking up a dozen of their frozen cider doughnuts to take home.
Having just now sat in a Maverick for the first time - I have to say you are right.
I've really knocked the XLT because of the orange trim. I still don't like the orange trim. BUT it isn't nearly as bad in person.
