I run K&N on my Austin Healey but gave up on them in modern vehicles. I used to run them in my previous daily drivers but had a couple air mass issues which may or may not be related to the oil on the filters. Like you, I now just use a quality paper filter.

I didn't move from an Edge but did move from an Audi Q5 that was loaded. I don't miss any of the features (what the hay, I can turn my wipers on when it's starts raining). I can say the Audi rode better and was quieter, but not enough to warrant the cost.
