I kept digging and I think I see what the price difference is about: lumens. The "cargo" lights are significantly lower output (measured in lumens) than "backup" lights. Which, I assume, would account for the higher price of those labeled "backup".

Yes, I understand. Maybe I wasn't clear but my question is around backup lights specifically. They don't flash so no additional resistance should be needed - but yet, they are more expensive that those labeled "cargo" lights. This is the part I don't fully understand.

Can someone help me understand why these are so cheap but you can't get backup light replacements for less that $50? I mean, the cargo lights and the backup lights are just on or off so what am I missing?

This is a good point. The definition of "radio" could make a difference in this. I have a phone that connects but I'm most always tuned to a SiriusXM station when the "system" turns on...and under that condition, my last volume setting is retained.

That has to be a software setting if that's the case - which means it might be addressable via Forscan if you're open to going that route.

I don't know. I am using the settings I've dug up here on MTC where I've seen people say that the setting I've mentioned above have worked for them while others, like myself, say they don't. The only thing I can assume is there must be differences that cause these setting to work on some models...
