So as far as I'm aware here's what they are offering:
-$1,000 bonus cash
-$750 "private" Ford offer that supposedly does not stack with various $500 offers like Farm Bureau, military, etc.
-$500 "dealer incentive" funds
-$500 markdown on the one with the BAP only.
I have back issues, but in all honestly the Edge hasn't been great for them. I don't know if the driver's seat is unusually worn (got it used) or if it's the driving position, but I can't really find a comfortable position that doesn't feel like I'm slumping constantly. I've messed with the...
It may do that over the badges? But there's gloss black paint accents as well, including the entire roof. Its a pretty significant departure from the appearance of the solid colored model, just doesn't include any functional advantages.
Well today has been an interesting day. I've been speaking to my favorite dealership about obtaining a green Maverick, and the only ones with the features I want available also have the Black appearance package. They only have an Oxford White Maverick in stock, and I'm just not a fan of that...
It's not the dual zone that's confusing.
On the XLT, there is an "auto" button (I think).
Ford calls it "manual temperature control" which in my mind means you manually adjust fan speed and hot/cold like in old cars, which seems weird on a touch screen.
Trying to figure out how the XLT...
Ok, now I'm wondering- because the wording is so weird:
On the XLT, I know it doesn't have "Dual zone climate control" but it does appear that you set the temperature on the screen.
I'm getting conflicting info on how that works. Ford is calling it "manual" but the temp control would...
That's what I'm heavily trying to consider here.
My EDGE is an SEL with the "cold weather" package. But it's also a 2020, so not as up to date as anything new. A few changes I'm aware of:
1) No leather unless I go Lariat or aftermarket. Do I prefer leather? Yes. But its not a...
The engine makes a huge difference. I really like the updated 2.0L (had coolant intrusion issues until sometime in 2019). The 1.5 that the base Escapes come with is a very different engine. That 2017 Escape (my dad's) doesn't even get as good of gas mileage in real world use as the 2.0L...
Ah, I got it. I've towed with an old Escape with the 1.5L, and the turbo wasn't very happy...
I get it with the wind resistance. I can tow 2,500 lbs with the Edge and it has no issues. But a mower trailer behind it (with the big ramp) gives the Edge fits, even empty.
Haha, something I'll have to watch for if I get one! The longer wheelbase is a huge positive for me. The Edge has the power to stop and go with a trailer, but boy does it rock on country roads or bad interstate.
We heat our house primarily with wood pellets and have done a lot of work on the...
Ahhh, so that's the difference, the power seats/lumbar support. That clears ALOT up regarding the complaints. I have a bad back, and heated seats are pretty much required at this point, so I've only sat in an XLT with the luxury package.
It would seem reasonable to assume then, that the...
I'm in the market for a Maverick right now, so I'll add in another factor:
I'm being told (by the dealer, so take that with a grain of salt) that Ford has not been particularly friendly with consumer lease deals on the Mavericks, so the ones leaving the dealerships are via sales, not leases. I...
I will also add this:
Certainly my other option is to replace the Edge with a newer model. 2023 and 2024 models can be obtained pretty easily at this point. I don't like the base engine in the Santa Cruz, and the turbo engine puts it in a different stratosphere price wise. The Ridgeline is...
On the first point: I test drove a Mav and Escape back to back (The 2025 Mavs have a few good rebates, but this dealer is stacking deals on the Escape to try and get rid of them). Neither my salesman or myself are small people. In the Maverick, it felt like we seated appropriately apart. In...
Was there anything specific or credible worth taking a second look at? I did quickly figure out how to lower the seat when I test drove one, as I've seen that folks aren't always sure how to do that and complain about headroom until they do.
