  1. Travel trailer experiences?

You'll have to let me know on the rPod. The smaller ones at least seem to be ideal for towing with a Maverick, but real world experience is much appreciated! I forgot about Trailmanor. Those things are cool, though I don't know much about them at all. I'll bookmark that for future research...
  2. Travel trailer experiences?

Interesting. That's a really cool camper, but it does track into the fear I have going hard sided. I do a lot of my camping in the northern midwest, IL, MI, WI. While I personally don't mind slowing down, going 55 through Chicago or in the UP of Michigan can feel pretty unsafe at times when...
  3. Travel trailer experiences?

Is that the 17BX/RX? That looks a lot bigger than a 2,700ish lb camper!
  4. Travel trailer experiences?

Ahh, I see what you mean. Thanks for the clarification there!
  5. Travel trailer experiences?

That's firmly in consideration. I'm not shopping quite yet, but the prices on gently used ones seem very reasonable. I'd prefer something other than the "bunk" on the, but won't rule it out. I'll be honest, the top of my list is the "retro" or "vintage" trailers as far as amenities/looks...
  6. Travel trailer experiences?

Nice looking setup! However, it has the same bed type as my pop up trailer, which is what I'm trying to get away from. I broke two vertebrae when I was 13, and in my 40's now, time isn't kind to the old injuries. I'm looking for something that will be able to accommodate a full thickness bed...
  7. Travel trailer experiences?

Haha, I just mentioned that in my prior post. I'd absolutely love a 16 foot Scamp. But those units are really, really expensive and hard to find used as well. I'm probably looking for a Scamp alternative that's a bit more common (and thus cheaper).
  8. Travel trailer experiences?

I know! It's why I'm trying to research this early. I likely need to target something pretty specific, then watch for great sales or some sort of dip where it becomes available. For instance- a 16 foot Scamp is probably the ideal RV for us. Lightweight, plenty of room and a pretty good...
  9. Travel trailer experiences?

That is about the heaviest thing I would consider. I'm curious as to how you'll feel about it at highway speeds and conditions.
  10. Travel trailer experiences?

For sure. At 65 mph, 200 miles is a little over 3 hours, and essentially worst case scenerio here. I'm usually squirming by hour 4 of a road trip without a bathroom break, so the truck's needs aren't terribly different from my own, lol!
  11. Travel trailer experiences?

I'm coming from a Ford Edge with a similar range (towing a pop up camper), so that's not an unusual situation for me. I would prefer to avoid the extreme low end though, as 12 mpg isn't going to be much fun.
  12. Travel trailer experiences?

Just looked at those- the 15' is probably a little small for us, but the 17' version isn't much heavier and could very well be in play.
  13. Travel trailer experiences?

Yeah, that certainly looks bigger and more boxy than anything I'm considering. I'm guessing you are at the absolute towing limit with that one. What is it like trying to tow it?
  14. Travel trailer experiences?

Good feedback! Interesting to hear you are doing well with a 19 footer with the hybrid! What you describe is probably the largest possible trailer I would consider. Do you have a bed cap or anything to change the aerodynamics coming of the Maverick?
  15. Travel trailer experiences?

And that's part of why I'm hoping some owners will chime in when they see this. I'm thinking one of the trailers that's a little more teardrop shaped, rather than the blunt flat shapes would tow better, but I'd rather defer to real experiences rather than my eyeball's opinion of aerodynamics.
  16. Travel trailer experiences?

I'm definitely playing the long game- no rush here at all. At the moment I'm trying to get an idea of what my reasonable options are. I see that despite the 4k towing, these have a maximum frontal trailer size of around 40 sq ft, which limits quite a few models.
  17. Travel trailer experiences?

I got my Maverick with the 4k towing package, in part to plan ahead for a camper upgrade. Currently I have a pop up camper that weighs in a hair under 2,000 lbs. It's always been easy to pull, but the day is coming that my back will no longer put up with the beds on these things...
  18. November 2025 Maverick Sales & Production Figures: 9,883 Sold / 16,555 Produced

Very nice! I'll admit I wasn't in a position to get a new car in January, and haven't really been following prices until spring or so.
  19. November 2025 Maverick Sales & Production Figures: 9,883 Sold / 16,555 Produced

I was one of those! Most money I've ever spent on Black Friday! Lol. This is the first time I've ever seen any discounts or rebates on the Mav's, especially ones that stack, as I got nearly $3,000 off of mine. I'd imagine there were quite a few folks like me who jumped at a chance to pay...
  20. From Edge to Maverick?

Right? Lol! Nah, the K4 is an extremely nice car, it even has a sunroof and cooled seats. While the Mav has plenty of features, the K4 is the optioned out dream car we spent a month hunting for. Now we both got what we wanted!
