No argument with much of what you said though I do disagree about solar and other renewables; I've seen plenty of discussions and studies that show if we want to make the grid clean we can and not even requiring tech we don't have today.
I honestly believe the biggest impediment is the will...
This especially ticks me off, well among other related things. PG&E - corrupt and incompetent beyond words, again tried to sneak a tax in for people who consume their OWN generated solar power ! Luckily a reprieve but they will try again; backward, unmaintained network etc.. grr
Sorry for...
One of the reasons the Maverick appeals to us is the hybrid; we've got a full EV now and a plugin hybrid that can do ~20 (ha tiny) miles on battery alone. That works real well for so many of our short trips ie no gas. Wish the Maverick was plugin for that reason, we have so many < 5 mile trips...
Can you provide sources for those numbers, everything I've read is there reverse. Thanks
I know not everyone believes the EPA https://www.epa.gov/greenvehicles/electric-vehicle-myths
Perspective: everyone knows Tesla's are not economy priced and as of recent, gotten even more stupid expensive such that my 4 year old car would probably sell for what it originally cost even with 45k miles on the clock
Point being it came with bare metal throttle pedal and uninspiring (ok...
No claim to paint expert here but that almost looks like damage due to movement of some kind. Hard to be sure in the pics but I would have guessed there should be a consistent yet small gap between parts to avoid vibration induced friction wear. Would be interesting to see if the gaps on your...
Slipping off topic a little here - Tesla's new lithium low voltage DC battery is not 12v, it's 15.5 or something and does not have 12v standards terminals. Instead it has unique connectors and it's BMS is regulated by the car's systems (vs the after market lithium options having self contained...
Different use case but it would seem that if you have a lead acid battery for 12v, that the source of the 12v should be applied from the DC to DC converter (pure EV) or alternator in an ICE car with a similar charging profile to keep that 12v happy.
That's where Tesla went wrong initially...
Replacing the 12v with a lithium vs AGM is something some Tesla owners seem to do but the cost in that case is literally XXX the Tesla AGM (if you can get one)
The reasons sited are longer life but I believe that was triggered by poor 12v charging algorithms in the Model 3 when it first came...
Back when the Explorer was a new model, we got one. In the first few months the thermostat failed (car ran cold). Otherwise it was running well enough so in the next months 2 other family members got one. By this time ours was showing rust super early (New England) and it appeared to be a...
We were able to see and sit in a Maverick earlier in the year but it could not do any road testing as that vehicle was awaiting the fuel tank fix. So curious if anyone would be up for giving use a ride in their truck, nothing special just curious how it feels on the highway etc
Yeah I know this...
Hmm for a brand new vehicle I would have requested brand new rotors; cutting them removes material and unless they were over-thickness vs warped, their total usable life is now just that bit less.
Yeah they miss the point. Not everyone needs a TRUCK when this truck suits lots of mixed needs - 4+ folks, room for junk out back, good MPG and not a challenge to park just to name some.
