I don't know if you should expect any further communication.
Mine was built May 26th; email said estimated delivery to the dealer between July 2 and 8.
Then the tracker showed it going backward to "in production" status for a good three weeks.
Just returned to "built, awaiting shipment" late...
That's too bad.
I only hope that you can leverage the screw-up, either through Ford or the dealer, to get to the front of the line when the order book opens up. You won't get ahead of '22s that were pushed to '23, but hopefully you're the very first in line after that.
And you'll get a...
I've always cut a short section of 2x4 and made a couple passes over the table saw ro make a kerf. They last until I lose them.
Can be a clearance challenge on a low car like a Mini, but should be no problem on the Mav.
I thought that the Pope is infallible. Must be you then, unless you want to have it both ways: "the Pope is infallible as long as I agree with him."
Don't mind me. I'm just an Atheist who couldn't help but stir up some shit here.
I thought Tim said 'last" in his live stream. But when I looked it up, I found the info above.
In any case, the important point is that the VIN is irrevocably associated with a model year.
i live in New England and I'm a skier. I have never owned an AWD vehicle. FWD and proper winter tires (3 peak rated) and I have been doing just fine even when AWD vehicles with all season tires were off in the ditch!
Tim said yesterday, if you have a VIN, you'll get a '22. The last digit in the VIN is model year so that VIN can't be delivered as a '23.
I suppose they could cancel that VIN, but Tim didn't suggest that was possible; he was firm that it would get built and delivered.
Last night's Long MacArthur live stream; Tim said Ford is delaying production of Hybrids due to battery availability and that some trucks that have been built are sitting there awaiting batteries.
Mine went backward to "in production" as well. I'm betting it's awaiting battery.
Edited 6/15...
Tim did address the dead hybrids.
No recall yet but he expects that once they gather more statistics that a recall will be issued.
Apparently a cable needs to be upgraded.
He also confirmed that there is a battery availability issue on Hybrids that is delaying builds and also causing built Mavs...
Same thing. I got the "built email" and the tracker had a date of 5/26 build completion. While that date is still there, the circle is no longer partially filled and the status sentence at the top says "in production" now. no ideal what the hell that means.
Was at dealer Saturday, his tracker...
Your insurance will cover damage that occurred while you were driving someone else's vehicle.
So, yes, you can claim.
A dealer always copies your license before letting you test drive, but I've never had one ask me to prove that I had insurance. I don't know who typically pays for test drive damage.
I was just quoted $2080 over the phone for essentially the same thing (though I did want perf'ed inserts).
I was getting pretty comfortable with $1600, but I'm not sure I'm going to do this after all. :(
I haven't had a vehicle in years that was comfortable with the windows open above 50 MPH. I agree that auto up and down make the transition from highway to backroad speeds easier to manage.
