Cool, another article about some amateur's personal vendetta against a technology they don't understand.
At least this article talks to a few experts and leaders in ADB.
Peak intensity (the "brightness" graph) is not the issue. Glare and correct aiming are, but the current standards are...
His main point is still correct -- theoretical datasheet lifetimes in ideal conditions are nearly meaningless in the real world. The lamps will likely last the lifetime of most vehicles sold, but any claim of 50k hours or 70 years shows a limited understanding of automotive lighting.
There are...
With the exception of the turn signal, the OEM headlights are already LED and cannot be serviced.
An aftermarket LED projector headlight is being announced VERY soon.

Nobody has published meaningful data on venting for these trucks.
Another function to consider: aerodynamics. venting where it isn't intended will likely hurt your aero performance by introducing turbulence in the (hopefully laminar) flow along your hood or down the sides. From this...
It's completely okay to walk away and focus on other things you value or enjoy -- be it mental health, financial, family, or just other interests/vehicles.
We pour a lot into these trucks, but it's just a physical item at the end of the day.
To be fair, Tesla is probably the only EV company outside China that can handle the volume needed for lower prices. Everyone else is still burning cash trying to scale up new factories. Margins are higher on "premium" vehicles, so companies focus on them as a path toward profitability. But the...
I typically disconnect any aux power and inline taps prior to dropping off for service. Plausible deniability.
You can use inline harnesses like these so you don't have to cut into the original wiring. I haven't used these specific harnesses, but the idea is sound.
side marker (for backlight)...
I intend to keep my 2022, so hopefully someone with an early 2025 build in Saint Louis will reach out in the coming months to get it started.
FYI -- the version of the C1 HitchMount for the Maverick currently doesn't include Brake. It is only backup and a dim running light. The brake function...
Check which wire you tapped at the headlight connector. It sounds like you tapped into the constant-power wire instead of the low beam. Pin 8 on the far right has power any time the BCM is energized, even if the vehicle is off and locked.
Pin 3, marked with the red arrow, is the correct wire...
I plan to go with RC when I add flares. They are a moderate width with otherwise subtle styling. I think they are the only option available that offers some paint matching and doesn't require adhesive to the body.
The Mabett flares are so narrow that I don't understand the appeal. I want width...
I'd expect that a lot of failures probably come from poor application rather than bad coating material. In that case, I'd be more concerned with the local reputation of the installer than the brand name on the building. (Assuming the price and warranty are similar).
I've seen this as an add-on to roof racks. I haven't seen any lightbar-only mounts though.

I develop aftermarket LED lighting and have run tests with my personal Lariat Maverick and various XL and XLTs. I've seen (or rather, caused) this behavior many times on these trucks.
The BCM monitors the total current draw of each lighting function in the lamp. If you draw too much power, the...
I'm surprised you can't stick anything (a ruler? Screwdriver?) through the grille to knock the debris(?) loose.
Compared to most vehicles on the road, the Maverick bumper is very easy using a basic toolkit: flat blade screw driver (or trim tool), 8mm socket, 10mm socket, T30 Torx.
Removal...
I don't know how thorough the pre-sale inspections are supposed to be.
BUT I think it's entirely reasonable for less-skilled staff to miss (at least most of) those paint defects. I expect the inspection would focus primarily on possible damage from transport or parts missing/broken altogether...
Since they don't sell the Maverick in Germany, I think you should look for aftermarket wheels or a used set of factory Focus wheels (if that's allowed -- I know car modifications are tightly regulated there).
