It appears that you are correct. I would like to see two more examples. The first being a bare bones XL hybrid, and the other, an XLT hybrid with a couple of the most popular options (maybe trailer hitch and 360). That would paint a much clearer picture of what's being offered.

Yes, this may be the perfect vehicle for Uber and utility locators. To a lesser degree, it may replace the Ford Ranger as being commonly used as a pilot car for escorting oversize loads.
