Thank you for trying to help.
The Amazon link I can understand.
But that "simpler" last part might as well have been in Chinese...went right over my head, lol.
Jealous? Not at all, mon ami.
Just like you I presume, I live where I choose. I happen to like having all four seasons. I would find summertime, ALL the time, monotonous and boring.
As for this Photo Competition? It would be perfectly acceptable were it called "January in - - -", or something...
...I'm sorry, but the majority of the submitted photos don't qualify, that is, Mavericks captured in winter scenes.
The best thing about this "competition" is the clever comments accompanying the photos of the Unicorn Mavericks....oh, and the Canadian guy's close up of the temperature readout...
I read somewhere that it takes a little while for the vehicle to "adopt" (learn) a driver's habits. It actually learns to establish shift-points, etc. according to how it is driven. Am pretty sure this info was in a review published on one of the major automotive websites.
I had a '71 Cutlass Supreme in exactly this color...and with a parchment half-vinyl top.
Friends had a colorful name for it which shouldn't be used in polite company, LOL.
...and the Lariat is even worse; with so many colors goin'-on, it would give me a headache. And besides, I much prefer cloth seats to vinyl.
It was issues with the three available interiors that gave me the most trouble.
* Many of the exterior colors wouldn't
look right with blue interior.

I've had 11 vehicles since 1972, all but two were manuals. Have always preferred that feeling of "Oneness" with the machine. An automatic just puts a degree of separation between car and driver.
I have to admit to one longterm drawback of my preference though:
at age 67, my left knee is larger...
...had a chat with my dealer yesterday, made a couple of changes to my order. Anyway, the biggest news I got from him is that the XLT-Lux pkg. no longer includes the SIBL. Instead they're substituting the DIBL, for now at least.
After seeing this report, I'm pleased.
...I'm in WI, where everything eventually falls victim to roadsalt.
There are a few spots which are most prone to exhibit rust first...wheel arches of pickup beds among the worst.
While I considered rustproofing, I've decided to forego it. Instead I will just be extra attentive to flushing the...
No surprise that prices have to be pumped-up, what with the steep inflation we suddenly find ourselves in. All commodities will be costlier.
I still can remember that (the original) brand new Mavericks started at just under $2000. Because of inflation through the 70's, my 1980 Fiesta was well...
...Yes, apparently the Bed is bolted to the front portion of the body. I read about it someplace, can't recall where.
The small, horizontal joints in the sheet metal just aft of the back doors gives it away.
IMHO it's probably not a bad detail at all.
...the usual way to find cracks in metal castings is by Magnetic Particle Inspection. My background is in the Steel Industry though...not experienced with cast aluminum.
There are other methods (Dye Penetrant for instance).
Regardless of by which method the crack was verified, someone at that...
Easily, the thing I'll miss most is "rowing my own" with the manual transmission in my VW Alltrack.
Great little wagon, handles like a go-cart. But not nearly enough cargo capacity for my needs.
Plus, for some reason, my dog HATES riding in it. She'll only ride in the 2010 Escape.
My best guess...
'Same here.
I'd love to hear any suggestions regarding CD-player adaptations. Might it be feasible to somehow plug a portable into the Mav's existing speakers???
