Feedback that I’ve seen is that getting around the ACC radar in the baseplate design is not a big issue, it’s just that it pushes the cross-bar into the active shutter area. Since aerodynamics is not a huge concern for a toad, I don’t think the shutters being reduced or eliminated will be a big...
I actually think Ford did a pretty good job of striking a balance between blending the body lines and still providing a mostly flat surface for bed-top accessories. Adding a tonneau cover to the Maverick is a breeze compared to a Santa Cruz, Ridgeline, or even the Chevy Avalanche or the new EV...

On the other hand, the Maverick is one of very few newer vehicles that can be flat towed, so as time goes by...
Based on the instructions they have posted, I’ll probably wait to see at least one more vendor’s solution before committing to which one to buy.
I’d like to see if someone comes up with a solution that doesn’t completely eliminate all of the shutters and maybe doesn’t involve taking a sawzall to...
From what I can tell from the photos, very similar, if not identical vent extensions to the ones in the 1st post are already available with a few re-mixes for various use cases on Makerworld
I think the main purpose of the shutters is to slightly improve the aerodynamics when the extra airflow is not needed for cooling. Having some of them always open might have a small effect on mpg under certain conditions and perhaps a small effect of how quickly things warm up in very cold...
I looked at both the 2024 and the 2025 Lariat hybrid yesterday and ended up buying the 2025.
My other vehicle is a Lightning with Sync 4a and I felt like the 2025 sync screen was a lot more similar to the Lightning.
The AWD hybrid was also a bit of a factor for me.
I’m still figuring out my...
