  1. Ecoboost- Powertrain Malfunction/Reduced Power - Four-Wheel fault

Probably nothing you did to cause it, meaning nothing you can do to avoid it. Probably a random error in the immensely complex engine/drive train monitoring system, or something is marginal and will probably happen again and require a repair. Your dealer should be able to pull a stored code.
  2. Tested: Is Higher Octane Fuel Better? Better MPG? More HP? -- 87 vs 91 vs 93 Octane with Ethanol Edition (by Project Farm)

Has anyone ever wondered why Lexus vehicles say that Premium is required and the Toyota models with the same exact engine (same HP/Torque rating) say that Regular Unleaded is required? I poured thousands of gallons of Premium fuel into vehicles over the years starting with my Contour SVT (which...
  3. VIDEO: The Right Oil and Change Interval for 2.0 EcoBoost

They do all this because organizations like Consumer Reports and JD Power do a total cost of ownership calculation that includes service cost. If the service interval is too short, the total cost of ownership goes up and it looks bad compared to the other companies that either include free...
  4. Hard Tonneau suggestions?

Just keep in mind that the hard tri-fold won't be able to open all the way and rest on the back window if you have the Elevate CS racks installed. There is a clearance issue. I went with the hard-roll up (Centry CT) and I'm happy with it so far. Also keep in mind that the Elevate CS racks are...
  5. Anyone have a sound clip w/o muffler?

IMO, these ecoboost sound best if you can't hear them at all. I don't like drone or fart can. They don't rev high enough to get a proper 4-cylinder scream. Just keep it stock unless you are trying to drag it. Otherwise, you will just annoy people. No-one will ever say Damn, that sounds great.
  6. My shipping has me all sorts of confused

It took me more than 6 weeks to sell my 2015 VW Touareg TDI and I didn't get book value. In fact, I had to go down to $2K under book to even get someone to finally look at it. Vehicles under $10K go quick, certain brands like Toyota and Honda and Jeep will sell faster as well. For less...
  7. Official Keypad Feedback Thread

I have played around with my securi-code pad a little, but in reality, I haven't really needed it yet. I've barely memorized the code...in fact, I forgot it now... :ROFLMAO: For someone who does a lot of watersports, hunting, etc where you might want to keep your key in a safe dry spot, I can...
  8. Tested: Is Higher Octane Fuel Better? Better MPG? More HP? -- 87 vs 91 vs 93 Octane with Ethanol Edition (by Project Farm)

I love Project Farm, but a portable generator and a small engine ATV would not benefit from higher octane like a 4-cylinder DOHC Direct Injected Turbo engine. For the tested uses, I'd say there is no benefit for higher octane, but I'm sure you could see measurable difference with the Maverick...
  9. VIDEO: The Right Oil and Change Interval for 2.0 EcoBoost

I think the point here is very few people really operates their vehicle in the "normal" mode. Anyone who lives in an urban area has extended idle times, hot and cold environments, etc. People do push their vehicles hard these days. Anyone who wants their vehicle to last anywhere near 200K miles...
  10. Kicker 46HS10 hideaway sub - what are your settings?

One thing to keep in mind with this product, its not going to "BOOM" like a big box with twin 12" subs and a 1000W amp. It is meant to fill in the low end that is missing from a stock system and add a solid foundation to the music. It will give kick drums a solid thump, it will get the low bass...
  11. Kicker 46HS10 hideaway sub - what are your settings?

I'd cross over at 80 or 100Hz. 120 is too high IMO. You also shouldn't boost the mids and treble. You should adjust the bass until it blends. Always subtract, not add EQ. You didn't mention, but hopefully, you have added some sound deadening material to both the back wall and to the doors. The...
  12. My shipping has me all sorts of confused

After reading this whole thread, I can give you the following advice. Ford Chat often gives the wrong info. Railcars often sit in the large rail terminal yards from several days to a couple weeks. I'd say yours is still sitting in the Gibson Indiana terminal. The rail car number doesn't change...
  13. Amazing gas mileage! 2.0 AWD ecoboost

So far, in 2800 miles, I haven't seen a tank with an AFE less than 27.5mpg in mixed driving. I reset the trip odo each refill. Hand calculating has sometimes given lower, sometimes higher than the AFE on the screen. Highway trips are over 30mpg. I'm happy with that.
  14. Kia radio

If you're expecting AM/FM reception from that mess, you will be disappointed. JK! You would be much better off posting this question in the original cheap Homelink mirror thread.
  15. How Two Maverick Owners React To One Another On The Road

So far, I've noticed that other Maverick drivers are oblivious for the most part...I've tried to give them the courtesy nod, but can't get eye contact.
  16. Tonneau cover vs. Cap?

I think the "high end tonneau" + elevate rack comes in a fair bit lower than $2500. My Sentry CT+ elevate+TS rails was under $1800 with RealTruck forum discounts. I would consider the Sentry CT a high end cover. Maybe not the most expensive, but it is comparable with the BAK X4S in quality.
  17. Elevate CS Rack installed

Frustration is starting to set in... Latest email from RealTruck updated with expected delivery not until Aug 2-7. Grrr! Aug 2nd update: I received an updated delivery email last night that said Sept 19-25th and I about went ballistic on the company. Went to the website and it showed in stock...
  18. Anyone have the PAW roof racks?

Those will probably deform your roof and might rip off with any "lift" from the gear on top. Spend the $ and get a proper set of ladder racks for the bed.
  19. Any Maverick owners with NO problems / issues so far?

My only problem in the 8 weeks/2500 miles is the glitchy infotainment system. Maybe its because I keep a USB with 5000+ songs plugged in all the time or maybe it is just bad software. Hoping for an update to help with stability. I do a reset at least once a week.
  20. Way to get navigation on my screen from an app on my IPhone?

Yes, there is a feature called Apple Car Play that works when you connect the phone to the USB ports (on the dash) and also sync the bluetooth with your phone. You will get Apple Maps (or Waze/Google Maps) as a choice on screen. It will also let you interact with Siri.
