I still remember hearing that thud of a foul ball in the parking lot of one of my kid's baseball games, only to find a fresh dent on the edge of the roof, above the driver's door, on my then-new CMax.
I know it's only a CMax, but that was a hard day.
So the backup camera and ultrasonic proximity sensors(the beeping when you get close to an object) are two separate systems. Most Mavericks only have the backup camera, no bumper sensors, do there'll be no audible warnings, even though the camera shows the truck getting close to another object.
In place of an alternator, there's a DC/DC stepdown converter capable of about 250a of 14v output. It uses the 300v of the hybrid battery/powertrain to charge the 12v battery and power the standard 12v electronics.
Ok, I get that people might not be thrilled about it, but Ford tailgate cables have been like this for years. It's just cosmetic. Do a Google search for Ford tailgate cable adjustment you'll find people all over the F150 and Ranger forums saying the same thing.

Sync 3 (or whatever they call the XL/XLT system) hasn't had a hardwired video input function in years. There used to be composite Video input on the old MyFord touch system, but that was 2015 and older.
They're all about the same. The hole should be about 1 ¹/¹⁶" diameter. Get one with a weatherproof cover if it's going in the bed. If possible, mount it facing down inside the top of one of the cubbies to keep water out. If you can find one rated for 20a, you won't even need the fuse, since the...
Nope, not at all. The only way a power point could draw any current without something plugged in is if it was equipped with some kind of light. Even then, the 12v tie ins in the bed are tied to the battery saver relay, so they'd get shut down after a certain period of inactivity anyway.
If you actually consider that a design flaw, then you never should have traded your previous vehicle, with it's comically oversized cupholder, for a First Edition Maverick.
While you sulk about your cupholder, I'll keep waiting for my order from July 6th to be built, comforted in the knowledge...
Not exactly a very exciting piece, is it?
Honestly, I don't see any sense in a comparison ad when the Maverick isn't even readily available outside of special orders.
Without driving it myself to be sure, it sounds like you had a hybrid battery with a low state of charge. Nothing to be worried about, depending on driving conditions, it can happen periodically. I've generally noticed it most on 3rd gen hybrid powertrain vehicles (CMax, 2013-2019 Fusion hybrid)...
No I get that, but while it's still in "Just" a whine state, there's more likely than not no internal case damage yet. There's a very distinctive change in sound between when the bearing is failing and the case gets damaged. If it's still a whine, not a scraping sound, it should be fine.
Also...
You might want to check with the dealer on this one. Especially if it's the one who's ordered your Maverick.
Ford's bulletin 20-2219 specifies a transfer shaft bearing repair/update kit to address that problem. Depending on which bearing failed (transfer shaft or differential carrier) and...
We've had so many people bringing these tires back to us about this appearance issue, Ford actually had to issue a service message clarifying it's a normal condition and tire replacement for it isn't able to be covered under warranty.
The three buttons are the 3 Homelink buttons. One to control each paired device. The battery isn't officially replaceable, but I haven't tried to pry one apart myself. I'm sure there's a way to get it apart, but I don't know how much damage it would cause, taking it apart. As for mounting, I...
Ok, gotta ask, what is it about using the Traction motor for reverse don't you like?
Just curious, of all the concerns I heard from people with both the eCVT and conventional belt driven CVT's, I've never heard anyone complain there wasn't a dedicated reverse.
Normally, in a conventional...
The only meaningful change would be the end user experience. Particularly to a customer who's coming from a non-hybrid drivetrain. Previously, it wasn't much of an issue since the Ford Hybrid customers were coming specifically for the Hybrid drivetrain and paying a premium for it. Maverick...
Ford's brake fluid recommendation has nothing to do with the hybrid system specifically. It was added to the maintenance schedule when the Electronic brake booster debuted as standard on the 2020 Explorer and an option on the 2020 Escape. Ford's recommendation for a 3 year brake fluid change...
