Ford finally found the rattle. According to the service department, it's an unsecured defrost vent. Car's been in there for over a week. They're still working on it.
I only suspected it was the defrost vent because of other complaints. Otherwise, I would NEVER have guessed that. It did not...
Thought I'd update this.-
I had to slide one of the cross bars out of the way to pick up a new dryer. I tested how easy it was to remove. A few quick turns of a small socket wrench and I was able to slide it and remove it from t-slot rack. No need to take any bolt or nut off or readjust the...
Already got cross bars and a carrier on there. Found a great deal on t slot cross bars that fit my tonneau cover. But even with that, I was out of room on an ice fishing trip with all the gear and stuff we brought. There were 3 of us, so we had a bit of space left in the back seat, lol.
Dang!!!!!!! I was planning on less than 100 pounds. Now, I've got to keep it to under 50 including bars and carrier........ugh. I'll probably return the yakima now. Not worth spending so much to just carry 30 to 40 pounds worth of stuff and suffer a 5% mpg loss when it's empty.
I'm going to grab a tape measure and confirm the roof's dimensions, but what are some of the biggest cargo carriers people have put on the roof where it doesn't stick out past the roof?
My cross bars also have a t slot. I wish there was an option for a cargo carrier to be installed. However, I just installed a cargo basket, much like yourself, with the clamps that came with it.
I'll pop it off when the weather gets warmer. My very rough guess is slicing off an inch to two inches would make this look perfect on the truck, but it's really not bad at all.
IF you are planning on adding bed cross bars or some other sort of accessory, MAKE SURE THE TONNEAU COVER WILL WORK WITH THAT ACCESSORY.
I have cross bars with the tonneau cover. A folding cover would not work, but my retractable cover does.
I'm not sure about the T slots or what you can do, BUT I'm pretty sure you can't install cross bars in any case if you have the folding bed cover. The bars will probably get in the way. I'm only able to do this because I have a retractable tonneau cover.
I installed this on my Mavierck and just throwing in my 2 cents in case anyone was interested. I believe I paid 179.00
I had already installed a retractable tonneau cover from SyneticUsa which had channels built into it for t slots so installing these cross bars was extremely easy...
I bought a syneticusa retractable cover from amazon for 1,000 15 months ago. I like it. It takes up room, BUT there is still space underneath the box the retractable cover goes into.
I'm not a fan of the hard cover fold tonneau covers. While they don't take up space underneath, they still...
I'd like to have access to a bit more cargo storage on my Maverick and I'm looking for roof cross bars to install a basket/cargo carrier. I'm not paying 750 for what I found on Ford's accessory page. It's just not something I can financially justify.
If anyone had one that they bought and...
All (or maybe most) of my rattles seem to come from around where the dash meets the steering column. Of course, it could be a little further away. Sounds sometimes travel. Rattle has gotten better (less often) in the summer. And when it does rattle, pop, or whatever you call it, it is less loud.
I think they PROBABLY corrected it on the new ones. But, it definitely doesn't hurt to open the fill plug with the truck level and see if it's full. No need to bother draining it yet.
I took it off. I didn't bother to see if I could just turn the wheel and access it. If you're going to bother with checking the level, my recommendation is to fill it a 1/4 of a quart more than what you got out (if you have a way to measure) if the fluid is cold. 1/2 a quart if you drained...
