Good advice. Some of that stuff is extra stinky. I grew up downwind of oil refineries and have even worked in the refining industry, so it all smells like "home" to me - but the modifiers they put in gear oil are especially pungent.
I was checking to make sure that I didn't spill any. I...
I'm not going to lie. It's tempting to just pay a mechanic to do this stuff. Crawling on the floor is not fun even with the quickjack I have. My 45 year old body has premature arthritis, plus I need to eat better and work out more. Plus, when you diy, you have the mess you have to clean up...
That's a good question. My guess is in another 26,000 miles, it will look almost as dark as the first change, but will have less debris since the car is fully broken in now. But i'm just guessing
Yes, I removed the air box. I didn't know you can reach the vent hose otherwise.
I can't believe how many people are filling it up through the vent hose. I looked at it after I removed it and there's a plate with a hole not much larger than a pin hole. I wish I removed it from the start...
I just changed all powertrain lubricants in my maverick at 15,000 miles. I don't drive it hard, but I don't drive it lightly either. I towed a 2,000 pound boat and trailer for maybe 3,000 of those miles so I figured it was a good idea to do a break in change, especially since I hear horror...
That's only half the reason I'm posting about it. Yes, I like my car to have been on for 3 or 4 minutes before I get in. I also like having the turbo engine lubricated and the oil to be slightly heated up. I know manufacturers make engines now that can go right away, but I still do it for...
Too many key fobs. Weird, my truck is a lariat with autostart (at least through the mobile app). You'd think I would've gotten a key fob too. Maybe they made a mistake and didn't program and give the correct fobs.
Thanks, I'm going to try that. Who knows, maybe that will work. I tried doing the lock, lock, then hold down longer on the third time which is how most Manufacturers did their autostart through a normal looking fob.
Something tells me I'm missing something. There is NO way Ford created a...
2023 Ford Maverick 2.0 Lariat AWD
For whatever reason, this cold morning my Ford Pass app would not work. I was very annoyed when I realized I only knew how to start my truck
through my phone. I don't have a key fob with the remote start option. the app is working now, but sucked getting...
Yeah. I'm going to keep the weight under 4k. Happens I found a boat that I may like a little more. Full fuel tank, engine, boat, trailer is about 3100. (According to the manufacturer) This leaves plenty of wiggle room for underestimated weight, gear in both car and boat, and passengers in...
