Guys, believe me, once I take it off, I will use the part as a lab rat and test all sorts of products on it to see what is the best way to get rid of the scratches. Thus far I can tell you: Heat gun is the worse idea. It is anyway my fault that I didn't listen to my own gut. Back to Black...
I am with you and wish would have left the initial scratches alone. Now it looks really nasty, especially because on top of the heat gun damage I tried with some "back to black" chemicals and it looks all messed up. I think 90 bucks is not too crazy and moving forward I will try to keep the...
Thank you for your message. I think the damage is beyond the point that it can be repaired properly (the images don't show the full extent). I just ordered the part, it was only 90 bucks. I think it is not worth to go experimental with repairs and spend more money. I just hope the swap goes...
Thank you for your message!
This is not the bedliner, I have a spray in liner. The damaged part is the plastic trim around the bed on the driver side. I think I damaged it way to bad to be able to resotre it in a proper way. I think the cleanest way is to replace the part, what I am intending...
Thank you, I really appreciate it! I am super OCD with my cars and this makes it not easier to deal with it... I just hope I can replace the part without destroying anything. I looked into it and it looks like it is pretty similar to what the guy is doing in the Video. I was hoping someone here...
This trim is super heat sensitive and changes structure, even with low heat. This is how it looks like with mine, super annoying. Again, I was extremely careful but heatgun is not meant to be used for this area. Now I have to figure out how to remove this panel. I already checked, the part costs...
That was a terrible idea. I did it and was really careful and did it for a very short period and it severely damaged the plastic. I should have known better but I thought I give it a chance. Well, now I have to order the entire trim to replace it because it looks like sh*t.
I am approaching 1000 miles with my hybrid but haven't gone full throttle yet. Considering the fact that the gas engine theoretically has only about 600 miles on it, would you wait another 500 miles before to end the break in period? Thoughts?
When I pay cash, there is nothing they can do about it. When I own the car they have to give me the pink slip and with that I an do whatever I want with the truck.
Mine rattles right now on at least 3 corners: front center, front passanger side and rear (most probably) glass. I already reported about it in various threads. It drives me crazy but I just decided to live with it and turn on the radio when it starts to rattle. Good thing is that on the freeway...
Speaking of cold weather, I finally could look into the engine bay while the gas engine was running to keep the heater on. I was super impressed. I was expecting everything will shake and rattle but there was hardly any shaking or movement in the engine bay.
Without reading through the entire thread I can tell you, don't cancel it. I promise you in less than 3 weeks, the system warned me at least half a dozen times when I was backing out, this alone is worth the money. The blindside warning is a great and useful plus. Lane keep assistant is...
My MPG keeps going down, meanwhile I am at 36mpg with 240 miles. The only explanation I have is that I have less freeway miles and more short trips up and down the hill. With this tank, I think I will barley get 500 miles.
