The maverick has a removable panel on the tail gate that allows access to the latch mechanism. it spans the whole length of the tailgate though, I wonder if someone has made plastic cubbies that fit in. maybe not as a cooler but a little bit of extra storage for bungies or something. I couldn't...
I agree with you on the fwd being the weak point. I really wish they would get an E-AWD system like the escape and rav4 hybrids have. in towing mode, the rear motor always being engaged would do wonders for that. Have you considered balancing the truck a little bit? for example, putting sand bag...
My first time using it. It is sooo cool. Incredibly light and way stronger than it seems. Up to opinion, but I think it looks slick too. I specifically went with the bare metal because I think it looks cooler than blacked out
Do you feel like the front end is any more likely to slip with the extra weight in the back? or do you think the airbags completely negate the since it wont sag. I towed a trailer just under the 2000 lbs and granted it had just rained but I had to be noticeably cautious on acceleration to not...
Cross bars are 60 inches, vertical bars are 12 inches, horizontal bars are 43 inches. cross bars can be as long as you want. I wanted a little overhang for potential accessories, but you could square it of to the vertical bars. The horizontal bars are as long as possible. You might be able to...
Those are 1 inch by 2 inch. it worked out almost perfectly that the t slots on the elevate rails are almost exactly an inch wide as well so they sit very comfortably on top. I think these are more than strong enough for any application. could go 1 inch by 1 inch to save some weight or money, but...
Can update that it has no noticeable wind noise at highway speed and didn't notice a decrease in my fuel economy today either. both are probably attributed to the fact that I wanted to keep it below the roof line and did so
I have to say that to excuse my self from stupid liability if someone does it and hurts themselves as well as the random person who will, without a doubt in my mind, ask how much weight it can hold
Got a fun one for you guys. I made a sized and fitted bed rack out of extruded aluminum. I got the idea from extrusion overland but didn't like their prices. It took custom fabricating a few pieces of hardware but overall was mostly design and build with no issues. I purchased the hardware and...
Thats basically it.. I think once I get it loaded, I don't plan to change the weight while driving on the road so the one and done. The cool factor though....🤔
I am planning on adding the bladders on my truck because I am moving across the country with it fully loaded and am hoping it helps balance the load. Do you think the wireless compressor is handy enough to be worth the almost 600$ cost? I already have a Viair 88p and originally planned to use...
The generator wouldn't be the limit for that. generator honestly would probably barely notice. You would hit the DC/DC converter limit(heat and fuse) before you hit the generator unit limit. I can tell you that the DC/DC converter should handle that load with no problem. it puts out 120 amps...
