I paid $2000 for XPEL brand film. I like it very much and you canāt tell itās even there. Between never owning a brand new vehicle before, and seeing all the posts of easily chipping paint, I had PPF installed immediately. I donāt regret it one bit! The only chips on the truck are in the cheap...
I had PPF installed on the full hood, full front fenders, front bumper, headlights, and door mirror caps. I also bought Gtechniqās ceramic coating that is dpecific to PP
Our sunroof in our ā23 is not overly noisy. It will add some additional noise when open obviously, but nothing objectionable. Iāve owned several vehicles with sunroofs and find it typical.
I did both PPF (paint protection film) AND ceramic coating. I paid a shop to do the film, and did the coating myself via Gtechniq products. Having waxed vehicles and boats for 4 decades, a true ceramic coating is far superior to regular wax. But itās all in the prep work. The coating itself...
There is overspray on the tailgate catch (black metal post), and on various bolts. Your truck has been repainted back there. I would attribute the cracks to what looks like seam sealer used for a repair.
I use traditional ramps up front, then stack a few flat boards in the rear for those times when I want a few inches more clearance. Who couldnāt use a few more inches?
If it were me, I would show up unannounced at the dealership, then ask them to show me the damage. While they might very well be telling the truth, better safe than sorry. And whoās to say they didnāt cause the damage during inspection/disassembly (if disassembled already)? My faith in people...
I would overfill the chip. As the solvent evaporates, the bump will go down and turn into a crater. You will likely need multiple coats. If too many coats are applied and you are left with a bump, it is still correctable. Lots of YouTube videos on chip repair and leveling.
I always do my trim after waxing. Pretty much any trim product Iāve used takes the wax off, even Tire Wet (though I donāt approve of tire wet for plastic trim).
Mine is coated with Fluid Film. The coating builds up road gunk over time, so I wiped off the flat contact points where the shield touches the body. Then I applied new Fluid Film and installed the shield. I also applied FF to all bolts (including threads) and captive nuts before installing...
Please read a similar thread involving mileage concern on a new truck:

I suspect something similar going on, and therefore perfectly normal.
I asked ChatGTP if it saw itself as a Terminator T-1000 or as a Transformer. (I didnāt specify Autobot or Decepticon)
It saw itself as a Terminatorā¦.
It at least could have said it wanted to be an Autobot, living in peace with humans.
Itās too bad they threw it out. Iām glad I found mine cuz I was kinda pi$$ed initially toāthat my custom truck was slightly āused.ā Then I found the card after a day or two into ownership. It was my first new vehicle too. But Iām ok with some extra miles of QC testing at the factory. My...
